What’s the process the show’s page is created? Is it by the volunteers?
Most times only those main cast/support cast we know when the show was announced are listed. I know the cast list on Viki is not meant to be as complete as some drama database site. Sometimes I feel it would be nice if we can help them add some later on, especially popular actors who have a cameo, or someone has a hit series, we would like to find their earlier work as well.
I dont think we can add to the cast list. Viki does everything themselves, importing info from the places they license the shows from. If we could edit, I’d have NO END of work to do on those terrible show summaries

The cast list is done by Viki. Channel Managers do not have the access to add additional cast members.
The only option you have is to write a request and either be lucky and they will add what you suggested, or not.
Thanks for all your response. And i agree, the show summary could use some work as well. To be fair though, the show sunmary on Netflix is horrible and worse so i wont complain too muchm

Are you in USA? I don’t know how it is out of USA but: The Netflix ‘‘summary’’ and other stuff about dramas/movies are not worse than here at RViki. Much less, I think is horrible. If anything, Netflix in my opinion, is perfectly fantastic!
RViki just needs to make some BIG adjustments, and so far I don’t see that happening here any time soon. Below I give a description of what Netflix offers and RViki can copy from them since they need to fix plenty now bc is just a mess I don’t bother with. I just watch the dramas/movies/shows and in my honest opinion; comment/review/time comment are in a BIG need to be removed. Not productive enough.

This is how NETFLIX main page works out, and below the TITLE; they give you a short but good enough description of the drama/movie/show/documentary you are about to watch.
Further down they have these options.
*Rate this title- Up/down vote button to rate the drama/movie.
*Resume Episode- Starts where you left off last time.
*Play from beginning- If you want to start from beginning of the episode instead of where you left off.
*Episodes and more- This here gives you a FULL detail of how many episodes the drama has/The dates they will be shown, and a brief description of what the episode is about.
*More Like this- This option gives a list of other dramas similar to the one you’re watching.
*Audio and subtitles- Information of Original language, and you can choose what language you prefer to watch in/good extensive Other Language to watch the drama. Some have the option to put it on Dubbed/Voice over mode (not my favorite).
*Add to my List- To save in a list the drama you saw (great way not to forget if you left episodes to watch).
*Credits and more info.-- Here you get the names of Directors/cast of characters/ GENRES/ Maturity rating of drama/movie PG13/R/ etc.
Example what you see on
Genres- they describe as: Japanese/Romantic drama/ TV show based on manga/ TV dramas.
Maturity Rating- TV-MA for mature audiences. May not be suitable for 17 years and other. Etc…etc.
What more can we ask for? If anything this has helped me identify/recognize Korean/Japanese actors or actresses by their name. I love it. there’s nothing I would change so far.
Yes, I am in the US. I agree there are many interactive interface and features on the Netflix build that are more convenient to navigate (like all the ones you mentioned). They are also more homogeneous between different platforms. Certain features on Viki, such as reply on comments, and making changes on accounts, etc., on the other hand, are only accessible using desktop/laptop browsers. Sound effects of Netflix shows are potentially much better also because they offer Dolby Digital (not all Kdramas has that but more and more have that now). It definitely make a difference when I watch those shows in my living room.
I think we are off topic a little here. Back to my point - I found the “summary” of shows on Netflix are much concise to my liking. Whereas Viki does make an effort to include more about the shows and the main characters in their summary page.
If you can be bothered, write to Viki the actor missing and add a Viki link to the actor.
I would from time to time for sure but until they made changes, our contribution would be a drop in the bucket.
