But I found some truth in that (in my pov, but not the “enjoyable” anxiety part):
I had a meeting with a friend a few days ago, and the GPS instructed me to use a road that I wasn’t familiar with…and boy was my anxiety strong! Strangely enough, I started recognizing landmarks, so I sort of calmed down. Ordinarily, if I wasn’t the one driving, I would be curious and I would have looked about with anticipation, but being in an unfamiliar place just really made me anxious.
Learning new things is beneficial to the brain, that’s for sure!
“Curious people also seem protected from depression.”
If curiosity can do that, then I think it’s really great.
