Has any of you watched Cooking Up a Storm?

yes I have^^ the scene in the restaurant in Prague (next to the gunpowder tower) took a whole day to shoot but itā€™s barely 2 min. Thatā€™s how tedious filming is. Always a little surprising

This schedule is driving me nuts. Iā€™m happy the 2nd album will finally be released but itā€™s all so sudden. ģ–“ė–»ź²Œ!?

So how was it? Iā€™m always wary of Chinese films.

I think it was nice, not spectacular story wise, but well made, decorative food, some nice effects, no weird green box moments and the clothes also looked fine. I was a little preoccupied with admiring YH though and I can tell you, exept for one scene, the closeups while cooking/preparing food have been filmed with himself ^^ In the end itā€™s a cooking competition, which reminds me of an Anime/Manga I watched before, so I knew what I signed up for.

Have you been to the Times Square already? ^^ https://youtu.be/cdW4p1es-L4

So you were not impressed with character development and personal storyline except for the competition, the acting (other than admiring YHā€™s chopping skills). That does not bode well.
Iā€™ll search for it, now that many months have passed it should be online somewhere.

UPDATE: Yes, I just watched it. I couldnā€™t believe how bad it was.
Not the actorsā€™ fault or anything, it was written like by a 10-year old. In comparison, Cinderella and the Four Knights is Fellini!
Who the hell counsels yonghwa on his acting projects? Or did he choose it himself?

I think he can choose himself. At least I remember back when he choose between ā€œHeirsā€ and ā€œMarry him if you dareā€, he made the decision himself. You need to get offers though to have a choice and right now for Chinese productions to use Korean idols isnā€™t really going well, 'cause of politics.
Yea well as I said, no spectacular story ^^ But I talked with a friend and there have been pictures released of scenes, not beeing in the movieā€¦ so we are not sure if either, 'cause fans went enrage just seeing still pictures or 'cause politics doesnā€™t want Korean idols to participate in projects, they may have cut out some scenes. Not sure though and probably wouldnā€™t have changed much. I didnā€™t expect any real character development, maybe thatā€™s why I wasnā€™t as disappointed as you. sorry if I wasnā€™t clear about that.

Yes! My favorite KPop Band!

 How cute is his reaction! YH could not be more endearing!

Well, I am hoping the drama choices after his service are better. I mean I adore YH yet his dramas are do not receive huge ratings other than his first one. I had high hopes for Three Musketeers, I mean they were slated for 2 more seasonsā€¦I heard until that didnā€™t happen. YH is a good actor, I am ready to see that reflected in his drama success.

Anyone tuning into Evergreen with Jonghyun? I saw 1 episode but havenā€™t seen the rest. What about Jungshin in My First Love or Minhyuk in Hospital Ship?

I wish I could have seen a live performance before YH went into service.

As for YHs dramas I love The Package, think he did make the right choice there. Dunno about the ratingsā€¦ maybe the big three generally have higher ratings? And even if Heirs had better ratings than Marry him if you dare, the over all message of the drama was a lot more interessting, sth I still remember.
I have seen both My first Love aka. Longing Hearts and Hospital Ship. I personally really liked JSā€™s drama, itā€™s kinda cute, sometimes funny but also sad. Hospital Ship was alright, not really my thing, it does show a bit the situation of islands having no hospital in Korea though, so itā€™s actually informative. But regardles of what people say, I think MHs emotional scenes got better.
Evergreen aka. That Man Oh Soo seems good, I need to see the ending to make a final rating, some parts are a little off. Like how people in horror movies always think itā€™s a good idea to split up, kind of things, you know^^ (just an example to not spoil anything)
Hope that helps a litte although I am biased after all ^^

He is a hard working person, for sure. Lee Seunggi also some how ended up in special forcesā€¦ Iā€™m impressed people come out of there in one piece (if youā€™re curious of what he wrote about it: https://www.soompi.com/2017/11/02/lee-seung-gi-writes-heartfelt-letter-fans-struggles-determination-military-service/)
579 days left for Yonghwa to get through this

Oh, thanks for linking this letter. It was beautiful. And it felt sincere, not like the usual copy paste letters which feel written by an agent or a company employee.
As for Yonghwa, it seems he wants to recover his career, and he has thought that thatā€™s the only way he can turn around the bad press and melt the hearts of those who accused him of taking advantage of his celebrity status. Itā€™s a smart move, although itā€™s a hefty price heā€™ll have to pay for those stupid moves he made in the past year.

He has always been thinking a lot before doing something, so Iā€™m sure getting back to a cleaner image was part of that decision. Iā€™d be glad already if people would at least inform themselfs properly after seeing his efforts.

Not alwaysā€¦ There have been things which could have been prevented with a bit more thought about the consequences. But jumping back proactively after bad choices is surely a smart thing to do.
