The screenshots show the existence of that site, as anyone could see. The concern is when a friend of yours tells you they are blatantly slandering you there.
If we have an open place to talk about everything regarding viki, it means here, why do people talk behind the back of an user non-subscribed there? Isn’t it hiding? Isn’t it acting cowardly?
Because if it wasn’t for that friend I would never ever know about me being slandered.

I just wanted to let everyone know that there is a site with a channel where non-subscribed people could be slandered, as I was, when any non-coward person would talk openly here because the user being slandered would know about it and could defend him/herself.
Viki should come forward and tell us if they know about such site, and such viki server so we all subscribe there too in order to try to protect ourselves.

I looked at your screenshots and only saw generic things. The screenshots are completely useless. Most of us know what Discord is, so what’s the point? I expected to see screenshots of where they talked crap about you, maybe conceiling the user’s name with a pen on Snipping Tool.
You don’t even say what exactly they said about you. So your post is meaningless, what are we supposed to think without any specifics?
Yes, members of Viki staff are on the Discord server, but they are users like everyone else, they have no authority to ban anyone or whatever.
What happens in other platforms is not (and cannot be) the responsibility of Viki. They don’t have to monitor other platforms and what happens there. Many of our volunteer language communities also have FB groups, and they routinely talk crap about each other there, both publicly and -more so- in private Messenger chats. Should Viki also monitor FB and the chats? That’s unreasonable.
Even if it weren’t unreasonable, it’s not practically feasible.
You know how many languages and how many volunteers there are on Viki? Only on the Discord server there’s so much chit-chat that I’m not using it anymore because it’s a massive quantity of irrelevant messages to read before getting to anything remotely useful. And you expect they assign someone whose job is to read all that all day (they would die of boredom!), just in case there’s something inappropriate? Just use your logic for a while.
We know they are so short-staffed that they cannot even deal with the workload here, asking them to concern themselves with other places on the Internet is absurd.
No, dear. You have to confront whoever it was privately and make a fuss privately, within your community, without expecting Viki to take the role of a primary school mistress who scolds the classmate who stole your sandwich.

You can write what’s the situation with screenshots and cut usernames not only say you are slandered because without proof what can we say, and I remember there is Viki Staff on the server.

Irmar, you do have a point talking about other platforms but you also said viki staff is there… Are they there just for fun and idle talk or to also try to moderate?
I’m sorry, I won’t publish anything because the person asked me privacy.
For me, letting other unaware people like me know about discord.com and what happens there is important because they can decide if they want to join and take the necessary measures if slandered.
