News from North Korea?

I’m not supporting or sympathising N.Korea. And I don’t think you realized something that US never teaches anything to any country to help.
I’m not sure if you know some Levi’s Jeans were made in Turkey. I could buy it for 10-20 dollars in US but it was 100-150 dollars here. It’s same for Timberland. I paid 12 dollars in Las Vegas for one pair. You can never buy it from China or Thailand with that price. Do you still think S.Korea made money from this trade? Do you know Samsung was the producer for Apple and it grew sky rocking after breaking up with?
W.Germany had suffered a lot to pay war penalties. If you search internet you can find what German people had to suffer after world war 2. America didn’t hug friendly and made peace with smiling face.
I even don’t want to mention Iraq. America brought democracy that’s why every day minimum 50 people still die there. I am not a Saddam supporter but at least people were alive and not enemy with each other.
Anyway, let’s stop this conversation here and try to be friends without expedience.
Just for fun…

Your ignorance is outstanding. Here you have demonstrated your lack of understanding of world politics, economics, world events. You are the one who started this conversation then when someone points out the incoherent ramblings you want to stop it, even after taking another shot. You talked about the media in the beginning but your knowledge of world events is obviously molded by your own exposure through your own media. So I’m not going to let you take such stupid shots at other people then run away to hide behind “oh we should stop and be friends”. If you want to stop then you delete your threads and I will delete mine. Otherwise I will be back here every day making sort of a blog of it. Next time I think I will talk about your country.

Just one more comment with regard to your comment about “teaching anything”. I was myself part of the “teaching” to ether countries with regard to electronics or semiconductor manufacturing. In fact, that is where I picked up my interest in Korea. I spent about two weeks every two months there in the 1980s. I was part of the teaching of certain manufacturing methods involved in semiconductor manufacturing, specifically Dynamic Random Access Memory devices. Well little Ozzie, Korea today is the largest manufacturer of DRAMs in the world, along with other semiconductor devices. So don’t tell me that we don’t teach. I spent time in China, India other parts of Asia as well as western Europe and a little in eastern Europe. I’ve be been there and experienced it. What have you done? And by the way, I would never buy a pair of Levi jeans and the reason for that I am sure you would not understand.

Yours and mine ways of thinking too different. First of all i didn’t start anything. I just told what i think related topic and messages. But you are the one so aggressively trying to have a conversation that goes no way out. Anyway I will still keep my manners and try to stop this childish conversation. No need to delete or something because by reading i’m sure people will get new horizons.
Whom did you teach? If you say know-how it’s so normal. Because you got paid for it and sure your company, too. Did you teach them for free? I really don’t think so. Now if you mean Samsung is the one of the biggest DRAM manufacturer because of it’s market value. Did you teach Samsung? American Government sent you there?
You confused apples and pears.
A Spanish technician from a French company had come for installment and showing how to use a spraying machine. Spain “thought” or France “thought” us? But this service was included my payment. Now i’m confused!
I myself went to show a different way of pressure casting (for sanitaryware industry) to some US Manufacturer that has factories in Mexico and Canada if you mean this counts “COUNTRIES’ TEACHING”!!! ?.. But as an engineer i knew this called know-how. You there call it as country’s teaching? Then okay US thought something else to me by you. So your other country visits were all for US teaching and also for free. Just to help them to develop?
Does it make sense? Of course not!
There is an other word “Benchmarking”. It’s for free and often used by domestic and international companies. But nobody call it a country’s teaching, as well. At least i never heard it. Sorry for my IGNORANCE.
And one last thing. My cousin works at Apple as senior engineer in San Fransisco. He graduated from METU here as Electronic Engineer. Does it also count as we teach your country something?

Me too.If this news about North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is true , than it’s just another measure to legitimate socialist cult through leader’s personality cult. He sustains his people through personality cult and nationalism, presented as the culminating stage of socialism. Nationalism appears as the sole basis on which policies are made there.

When I was a child, the regime in my country was more or less similar with the regime in North Korea, where the leader try to shape his own distinctive image , master time and impose his image as an admirable continuer of the great North Koreans rulers. I remember that each of my school manuals had the portrait of our leader on the first page, his portrait was hanged in every classroom , we had to attend public marches holding his portrait, learn poems about the bravery of our soldiers and the glory of our nation.

Although I think the equalitarian world where each member of society had the same rights and same purpose is an utopia (it really doesn’t work on practice and in time it shows) I do hope that , despite the bad rumors, the North Korean leader will focus on improving Korean’s lives. People can be raised with no dreams of becoming more than they are and no wonder how life outside the borders could be by telling them that their Great Nation has it better than others, but this doesn’t make them feel alive. Great leader have a heart for people. This is the most important news I want to hear from North Korea.

Chill out everyone… Dont take it that far.

Well with this comment I see I don’t need to say anything. You have clearly demonstrated that you are clueless about the world with your ramblings. I taught engineers in electronics companies in exchange for the purchase of equipment that my company produced. Of course I was paid for my work and they received information that, coupled with other education and development, enabled them to be successful in manufacturing. This is the way it works. I would think if you really are an engineer you could understand that.

So back to your original comments about the US exploiting S. Korea, I guess because we sold them equipment and taught them the necessary technology to use to help development themselves into into a major world economy, it means they were “exploited”.

Benchmarking is a process measurement tool used to compare business practices or processes to best practices. It has nothing at all to do with how a company improves on their practices or processes through teaching or otherwise. You did at least apologize for you ignorance in using the term.

US ( by its gov, public and private companies etc.) help others to develop because wants to build congruent interests that will benefit both. Even if there is a personal interest and benefit at stake, you can say US offer help for development. I understand what you meant, but you know that help is rarely disinterested.

Public and private companies doing as you say. Win-win’s mostly considered. But weapon manufacturers and some extreme politicians’ aim are different unfortunately. It’s same for Russia and China and others too.
I just wish for peace for every person because the only precious thing is human life i think. Even though some nonsenses exist.

We all want peace and we all know human life is important, but reality is cold and harsh, that’s why is important to invest in self defense and self preservation. Yes, the army is a big industry but it is the backbone of every country.

You have all the right to critique US interventionism. I don’t like either most of America’s foreign policy, but I’m conscious that today, when we are confronted with intelligence, economical and potential military wars, my country’s partnership with U.S is vital for our freedom. We experienced wars , dictatorships, we’ve been robbed of a part of our land, so we know how it is when you have no alliance and nobody cares about you.
