I stumbled upon this video, the spring festival in Lhasa, what a show, I think it overpasses Olympic games opening or closing… so many people are participating and all the beautiful costumes, well Im just speechless… this project must have cost a fortune!!
Also this I stumbled on article, China is advancing in humanoids or robotics and include those in their shows and so, so folks get used to them… apparently their pursuit in AI and robotics is extremely high!!
I won’t probably have a cleaning lady robot but perhaps my grandkids
I just found out that my collection has shrunk, I can’t find many shows I had and can’t remember them all.
But MARVELOUS WOMEN is one of them that Viki took out: https://mydramalist.com/61879-dang-jia-zhu-mu
I tend to check Soompi regularly for entertainment news, but I’ve never participated in their forums or even in their comments sections, which they are also discontinuing apparently.
Yes, it is true.
Soompi will shut the forums effective June 16, 2025. It’s truly the end of an era. I have so many memories of the Forums. The Smpi website and their Forums were one of the first sites I found when I began my interest Korean dramas. I was alone in my interest, so finding the Forums and being able to chat with online friends about the world of K Dramas there was very special to me. Although Smpi started as a K-pop website and the Forums were first geared for music, by the time I found out about them, they had expanded to include K dramas, and then other Asian dramas. To be honest, I wasn’t surprised by the decision as I have noticed a steady decline in postings and discussions for the past 4-5 years on the Dramas. I don’t know about the music, but I imagine posting must be declining there as well. I can well remember the lack of postings when F4 Thailand was airing in early 2022. I was quite shocked because there were tons of posts on other outlets like Twier, InSgram, etc. There was a lot of activity, but it was missing at S Forums. There is a post in the Soompi forums for people to leave their thoughts and final farewells. The Forums will always have a special place in my heart and I am sad to see another outlet for sharing excitement and enthusiasm for Asian dramas (and music) with other people disappear. Surprisingly, they are also getting rid of the ability to leave comments on their articles. Here is the post detailing all the changes:
The market is getting saturated and maintaining it with high volume of traffic can become overwhelming… I didn’t know they were on insta and Fraudbook as well… I don’t use any of them… I do visit soompi from time to time to read up news not much about kpop though…
Unfortunately nothing stays forever the way we would like… so is it with Viki
Hm? I was wondering, since I got mail from Viki, about my contribution status …
I was using the link of the e-mail, but couldn’t get to see the date my pass will expire, it wasn’t mention on in the “warning” either.
Can one see it while using the smartphone? I don’t have w-lan/wifi at home to use my laptop, since since my smartphone is all I need in daily life.
You can use the hotspot on your phone and it will be the modem. And you’ll have internet on your laptop. I’ve used this solution several times, especially when travelling. But to answer your question, if you go to your own site and you see the Community writing on the top, you have it on your phone. it takes you over to, for me, white pages. Your details are there too. There it shows you when it expires, how long you’ve been there and how much you’ve done and how many points you have. And so
I may be wrong about this, but I don’t think you can access your contributor information on the app. You can get there by going to Viki through your browser.
Interesting. When I go to my browser, it looks exactly like it does on my desktop. I think I remember putting it in “desktop” mode at some point in the past, which may be why. I honestly can’t remember how I did that though. I just remember someone mentioning it here once upon a time.
