[Solved] Did Anyone Else get this email - Is it legit?

I just got this e-mail “from Rakuten” asking me to test out their new design. This includes a lovely gif of Lee Min Ho waving at me holding a microphone (for extra incentive?). At any rate, when I click on the “test the design” box it pops up with hello balloons in multiple languages with three statements about the process. HOWEVER, the Get started button is grayed out but there is a spinning icon underneath if you click on it and then NOTHING.

So my question to Rakuten is - Is this legitimate or have I just allowed some ransomware on my desktop? If it’s legit - why isn’t it working.

Hi @bjh13416, thanks for highlighting this!

I’m the product designer from (Rakuten) Viki who sent this email out, so it’s a legitimate email, and I’m truly requesting for feedback for some new designs.

Unfortunately the tool that we are using for testing our designs has a fixed layout (the balloons). I definitely understand why it wouldn’t look like a real email from us! We will keep this in mind when sending out testing emails in the future.

Thanks,
Shirley
