I am looking for shows and movies in the Romantic Comedy category aimed at the over forty crowd. I’ve been a long time subscriber to Viki and they’re used to be a wider choice of shows with mature casts and story lines. Lately all I’ve found are cartoonish shows aimed at a more juvenile crowd. Any chance of getting more mature content?

Hmm, more mature content tends to be less comedic. It’s hard to think of mature shows that are not serious dramas… A few romantic lighter dramas, or romantic dramedies (?), for an older audience that come to mind might be:
Old Fashion Cupcake (Japan, 2022), a 39-yro rediscovers his lust for life.
Life~Love on the Line (Japan, 2020), tells a love story over the course of 20 years.
To My Star + To My Star 2 (South Korea, 2021-2023), season one the two start off on the wrong foot and the sequel they start off with a break up and deal with their relationship issues.
BTW, these are all M/M romances
Thank you! I will look into these, some of them I’ve already watched, Like For Eagle Brothers, which I really enjoyed, but there are plenty here to keep me busy while I wait for the next, My Bias, My Boss to drop. The wait is killing me. So, thank you very much!!!
With a dearth of new Japanese dramas to watch - my main thing - I’m watching a Thai drama that’s a fusion of School Drama and Sci-Fi/Paranormal weirdness called “The Dark Dice”
It’s a good logic-puzzle thing with good acting, and of course since I’m trying to learn the Thai language it’s good to have it on for that reason alone. But still Jonesin’ for some of my fave J-Dramas to show up at some point, or just some unfamiliar ones in the Sci-Fi or Historical or Detective or Paranormal genres.
On a completely weird tangent, awhile back I caught an episode of the ancient '60s vampire soap-opera “Dark Shadows” on cable on the METV channel and… memories of wanting to watch reruns of it when I was a kid but could only do so (on the farm) when the weather was good enough to clear up the snow on that channel. Since METV was showing episodes halfway into the fourth season I went looking and found it on a free channel on the Roku and started from Episode 1 - in B&W no less. It’s supremely cheesy and the fact that they’re constantly flubbing and forgetting their lines like a H.S. play is just hilarious. (Apparently the budget wasn’t big enough for multiple takes?) Anyway, I just looked through the Episode roster and about fell out of my chair when I saw it was something like 26 seasons and a whopping 1200+ episodes. And I’m on #36. I’ll probably ditch it at some point because it would take ten years to watch all of that and the pacing is g l a c i a l. But weirdly appealing, maybe because 1960s America seems like a different planet now. TMI and textwall - sorree…
