Your Favourite Love Triangles? / Viki's Drama Rating System

So which have been your favourite love triangles so far? My favourite ones are the ones which there’s just a teeny bit of SLS, the guy who finally ends up with the girl deserves it, and the second main lead is also lovable and does not end up too pathetic(It would also be pretty good if he didn’t die :wink: )

My favourite would be Kim Yoon Sung from Moonlight Drawn By Clouds and Gook Doo from Strong Woman Do Bong Soon :slight_smile:

This was just plain hilarious :joy: :joy:

To be honest I despise love triangles because the second male lead is just so lovable; the INJUSTICE at the end… :rage:. So kind of not the topic but I’m just going to mention the worst ones out there that I can remember
-Cheese in the Trap
-School 2015(I’m pretty sure everyone hated the end)
-and anything with Ji soo or Seo Ji hoon as the second lead

But yes SWDBS was very funny. I loved their bromance.

Ha Ha School 2015 - how cursed with second lead syndrome do you have to be to not get paired off with one of TWINS! (love square? :thinking:)

Oh don’t even get me STARTED on School 2015! :rage: I almost gave up on kdrama and hope after that :exploding_head: that triangle was the absolute worst! I tried SO hard to like Joo Hyuk’s character but it was so so obvious that Sung Jae deserved her waaaay more. I almost couldn’t finish it because of the extreme SLS!!

This is even more tragic when this one drama is your first one.
It was the first drama I saw and I was so desperate to let Gong Tae Kwang see justice, I went to so many sites where some bloggers provided their own version of the end.

WRITERS SHOULD PITY US AND GIVE A MORE FAVOURABLE ENDING

IF YOU ARE UNDER 18 DON’T WATCH THIS MOVIE> NUDITY/EXPLICIT SEXUAL content

It’s rated [R] but it was a love triangle like no other one. [FROZEN FLOWER] I hate tragic endings, but this one was worth watching.

I’m in USA and it works for me.

But they have some parts (10 minutes episode) on YT hopefully you have access to it, and can check it out.

Don’t watch it then. I think is too rated R more like X in my opinion.

I’m in Europe and I can watch it too.
So you recommend it? (I’m over 18)

As far as I know Viki only uses 2 ratings: PG-13 and NC-17. This one is NC-17.
Weirdly enough they only use NC-17 for sexual elements. Everything else, no matter how horrific, apparently can be watched by anyone …

Well, it has a lot of nudity, and explicit sex scenes. It’s more rated X in my opinion; but I can only suggest you skip those parts, if you feel they are too graphic for you (bc they are).

The story is very interesting in the sense that INTENSE/SACRIFICING LOVE is born from this weird triangle. I feel sorry for the LAD who was the victim of the pedophile King since he was only a child, and his ‘‘victim.’’ The movie is shocking, intense and complicated so prepare yourself mentally before you start watching. Anyway, you can stop watching any time you want. Let us know your feels about it.

I’m in the UK so would have thought to be Europe region too. Maybe they mean by country rather than a broader region like the old DVD distribution regions.

  1. U.S.A., U.S. Territories, Canada and Bermuda
  2. Europe, South Africa, Japan and the Middle East, including Egypt
  3. Southeast Asia, East Asia, including Hong Kong
  4. Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands, Mexico, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean
  5. Former Soviet Union, Indian subcontinent, Africa, North Korea and Mongolia
  6. China

add to that 2a UK special prudish Victorian region.

I have been suggesting they change the ratings in dramas bc they have dramas here that are rated PG-13; although they have horrible scenes of murder and extreme violence etc…

For example, Frozen Flower should be rated R. bc we know X is for porn lol I hope they look into that.

R : Restricted, Children Under 17 Require Accompanying Parent or Adult Guardian. This rating means the film contains adult material such as adult activity, harsh language, intense graphic violence, drug abuse and nudity.

Who can see rated R movies? I DON’T AGREE WITH THIS it should be 18 and up and if an adult is with the 18 year old, it should be an adult not someone 21 year old.

17

Children under age 17 requires an accompanying parent or guardian (age 21 or older) to attend R rated performances. 25 years and under must show ID for R rated performances.

Look what the The NC - 17 rating means “No Children 17 and Under Admitted.” The R Rating means “Under 17 Requires Accompanying Parent or Adult Guardian.” So, basically, both ratings are accomplishing the same goal – stopping people under 18 from seeing a violent or sexual flick.

Personally I would not let a 13-year old watch Fleet Of Time (TH), Tazza: One-Eyed Jack or Train To Busan, to name a few. Yet they are all rated PG-13 … :thinking:

Btw, in the Dutch system there are, apart from the age limitations, also “pictures” which mark what kind of content the movie/series contains.

afbeelding

AL = Alle leeftijden = All ages

The numbers stand for the minimum age to watch the particular show.

Spider = scary things
The one next to that = discrimination
Fist = violence
Syringe = addiction
Feet = sex
Last one = harsh language

Wow They really go in depth, which is very nice. They should apply something like that here at Rakuten Viki site, although NC-17 turned out to be the same as rated R Which i didn’t know until now.
