Born in Arkansas, but raised in Texas my entire life. I’m a southern girl who one day was inspired to watch Japanese anime with her sons and fell hard for something that the average American will NEVER understand. My life turned and tilted and spun. From anime to Japanese drama to Korean drama to KPOP to KROCK to JROCK… My life is still spinning and I’m enjoying the ride.

I’m an English major who studied American literature to English classics who then thought medicine was calling and followed that path… and then came back to what I really knew the most about… English structure.

I one day was given the chance to move to Korea for 2 years, studied Korean and Japanese. I volunteered at Korean orphanages, taught low-income Koreans to read, write and speak English. I was on a Korea drama and spoke on Korean talk shows of my experiences as an American volunteer. My international church, I met some wonderful woman who allowed me to meet Seo Ji Seok (the one lady knew his brother and it rolled from there…) My time in Korea was something I can never reproduce and will NEVER forget.

I’m now a volunteer at Viki, editing the language I know the most and have studied my entire life, using my knowledge of Korean and Japanese that I studied so hard in those 2 years. I’m a stay-at-home mom now and planning to re-engage myself back in the workforce with the Korean community I so love.
