Can we watch simultaneously on two devices with QC Benefits (Standard)?

Hi, guys! Quick question! I’ve never tested this, so I wasn’t sure. Is it possible to watch simultaneously on two devices from the same account with our QC Benefits (Standard)? I was watching a drama together with my dad, but I watched some without him and now I’m ahead, so he’s catching up with me at the moment and watching it from my laptop. Now, I wanted to use that time to watch the new episode of a drama I’m subbing on another device, so I can start translating it tomorrow. Is it possible to use the same account and both of us watch at the same time? As it happens, both dramas require a Viki Pass, so I really need to be logged in to watch it.

Hello Ana,

actually I never tried to watch two different shows simultaneously on my account. But I normally stay logged in on my computer and the Viki App on my mobile phone the whole time. I also tend to have multiple browser windows and tabs open at the same time. It’s not uncommon for me to have tabs with more than one show open at the same time. And I never had a problem watching them more or less simultaneously.

I also often switch between devices, while still staying logged in at the other devices.

Sometimes I start a show on the computer, then switch to the App aka Apple Box or the Fire TV Stick.

Sometimes that causes problems for the continue watching list so.

For example: When I watch a drama on the computer until episode 5 and don’t close the window after watching, then switch to the fire tv stick, watch it until episode 10, then go back to my computer and accidentally play a tiny part of the 5th episode in the not closed window on my computer, the continue watching list will tell me, that I watched until episode 5 even though I watched until episode 10 on the fire tv stick.

I hope this helps.

All I know is that it’s impossible to watch something on Viki while simultaneously working in the subtitle editor on the same device :smirk:

Hiya
Yes, with a Viki Pass Standard or Basic, you can only watch on one device at a time. For simultaneous viewing on up to 4 devices, you need to upgrade to Viki Pass Plus, according to Viki. I haven’t tried it, but i believe its tge same as NF
Have a lovely day watching :eyes:

Thanks so much, everyone! I really appreciate the feedback!

Really??? Usually it lets me play the same episode I am on, because sometimes I want to check how a particular subtitle ends up looking in the actual player or what choice any of the other languages I understand made for a particular word I’m stuck on. But this is intermittent and rare. Like, I’ll translate, then I’ll stop translating and in a different tab, I’ll play maybe 10 seconds and then go back to the editor. Do you mean like this or to have the episode playing constantly in a different tab while the editor is open in another one?

…constantly playing another episode. I was so confused at first when it happened :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

That’s definitely really strange! I wouldn’t have thought that the editor would affect the actual episode like that, especially since if you play it on a different device, still on the same account, it doesn’t cause that problem. I wonder why it does that on the same device.
