I am able to open Viki app on Roku and play video trailers, but when I attempt to play the actual video, it get an error message of telling me that there may be an internet connection issue. However, I was am to play video trailers on Viki so it can’t be an internet issue. At other attempts, I may not get the error and I am returned to the Roku page with app icons displayed along with Viki icon. When I clink in the Viki icon, I am delivered to the Viki page with video selections, but i am still not able to play any videos

for over 5 hours I can open app, but can’t play any videos, app closes immediately when I try to paly program

I have a similar problem. I can see the Viki interface and the trailers run, but when I try to view the series I’ve been watching, Viki gives me the following message:

“There has been an unexpected issue. Please check your internet connection and try again”

However, my internet connection is fine. I can view videos on â– â– â– â– â– â– â–  and other services, just not Viki

I tried rebooting the Roku and that didn’t solve the problem. I went to network settings on the Roku and checked the connection to the internet. It was fine (as expected). Then I disconnected and reconnected successfully to the internet, but the problem still persists

Viki has been problematic like this since yesterday (June 13) at 7:30 EDT in the US

Same here for now just doing air play from my phone

Viki is working on the issue.
They posted two notices at the top of the page (link below) advising users they are working on the problem.

Having the same issue. Did everything - deleted the app, restarted Roku and checked internet settings. Viki has been out for me since yesterday-well over 24 hours.

Not only Roku but I got on my computer and logged in and it will play the rakuten viki intro or kocowa intro but once the show is supposed to start it just spins and nothing plays. Ugh

Thank you for your post. I had no idea others were experiencing this same issue.

You’re welcome.

The guy that work for Viki do not seem to be up to the task. It has been days now, not hours. They still do not have a clue. {That’s the nice version of what I am thinking}

Roku is not working with Viki. I added the Viki app to my Samsung tv instead of using the app thruRoku and it worked. Not sure why. Maybe Roku has some issues with Viki. My â– â– â– â– â– â– â–  and â– â– â– â– â– â– â– â– â– â– â–  etc are working with Roku so far.

Wasted weekend, no Viki, no kicking back and enjoying my show(s), *sad sigh, are they even working on it?
Everything else is working after the weird outage last week, they need to fix whatever is happening.

I feel the same. I will be behind and it’s hard to keep up as it is.

When is Viki going to fix their broken Roku app? every time Viki updates the app this happens. I have been a subscriber to Viki for years and every single time the app gets an update there’s five or more days when it doesn’t function and throws people out of the app as soon as you actually try to stream something. Seriously not good customer service. I don’t see any posted updates. Let’s get it fixed please

Prime and ■■■■■■■ work fine - their apps never malfunction like the Viki app - the Viki app ALWAYS throws people out any time Viki decides to do an improvement to the roku app - it looks pretty but when you try to stream something it kicks you out. Ugh. I’ve had Viki for years and this has happened with them umpteen jillion times over the years - five days or longer while they post their lamesauce “we’re working on it” - yeah it’s a pain to watch on a tablet or a phone when you work computer remote all day and prefer to watch it on a smart TV. Ugh ugh ugh

A fix for those who have Samsung TV’s.
I prefer Roku but will use Viki’s Samsung app until the engineering team gets the issues resolved.
