The never ending chain of Asian dramas … (edited to Asian dramas for clarification) But if we are tired of Asian dramas we can switch to actors, food, cities, whatever … After all the time I spent at Viki, I went down memory’s lane … When we spent time at a channel waiting to finally watch the new episodes subbed, we kept people busy playing games in the comments. In the past we would start with a drama and get on with the next title and the last letter would be the first for the next answe…

The were of smitten teens gazing too intently at an uninterested second party, so likely doesn’t count.

Love this game! These tropes are so universal that finding a drama without them feels like a real quest. I’m already trying to think of one without a second male lead OR a hospital scene… and wow, it’s harder than I thought. Can’t wait to see everyone’s answers!

1. Name a drama where there is no second male lead.
2. Name a drama where nobody ends up in the hospital for any reason. (And yeah, if you want to go historical or xianxia, instead of the hospital scene, I totally count any blood spitting for this category)
3. (BONUS) Name a drama where the main couple don’t stare at each other for several seconds lovingly as a form of affection (or what one of my K-Drama loving friends likes to call “I love you in cat”)

1. does not exist (unless maybe GLs?)

2. I’m going to raise the requirement to “nobody pulls out the first aid kit to treat a ridiculously small wound, nobody gets an unconscious sponge bath, and nobody takes a nap in the school infirmary either” because there quite a few “no hospital” dramas…and dagnammit! I’d have to go back and rewatch them all because I cannot guarantee there isn’t some first aid kit that gets busted out in one of the throwaway scenes somewhere.
