Hello! I’ve gratuated from Ninja Academy quite a while ago and I would like to contribute as a segmenter for k-dramas. Please contact me if there’s a project i could work with. I will be available on weekends only due to my working schedule. So even if I can’t spare very much time I’d like to keep working on my segmenting skills.

Hi, I have been segmenting for a while but took a break during January. I am now looking for more projects. I have a couple of questions.
A) I saw a post that seemed to indicate that the segmenter role was going away, but I couldn’t find any follow up information. Is this a rumor?
B) I was looking over the new NSSA website (I think) and saw that I was not verified, yet I haven’t found out how to correct it nor have I located the page I saw that info. I understand with the new site some information needs to be revised, but I have located where to upload it on the new site. The intro says followinstructions for “no access” but I do not see the instructions. Can someone direct me on what I sm doing wrong? Thanks
Segmenters are very busy these days. There are lots of projects coming along.

Hi. I have good amount of video editing experience. And i have used Da Vinci resolve for few months. I’m interested in segging something light weight for now.
My availability is 4 hours per week.
Without graduating from the NSSA no one can joyn teams, so you have to take this path before.
As Netty has already written, you can’t join a team without a graduation.

Wow, if you have become proficient in Da Vinci Resolve including subtitle synchronization, you must be quite good in video editing!
Our tools are much much simpler, you should be able to grasp them easily. There are certain rules we follow that might be slightly different, like leaving a 1-second extension whenever possible, in order to give time to the viewers to fully read the subtitle… things like that. But they wouldn’t be a problem to learn.
The real problem is that channel managers here wouldn’t even know what your experience is or what that software is and would never give you a place in a team without you having done the segmenting training - which may take from 2 to 3 months, not including the waiting time.
Your only chance is to go to any of the NSSA master teachers and ask them to test you (after you have gone through the instructions on Youtube on the NSSA website or here on Viki). If they find you good, they might give you a sort of attestation that you can work even without going thorugh the course.
If I were you, that’s what I would do. No harm in trying!

Hi, I graduated from the NSSA a few years ago as a segmenter, and worked on various projects (creation of segments, A&C). I have some free time to spend so I would like to help you as much as I can on viki. I am available for about 1 to 2 hours a day.

Hello, as a segmenter you do not “choose” languages or specify the languages in which you can segment.
Segmenters create the segments or check them for correct timing…
You must graduate from the NSSA to be able to work as a segmenter at Viki.
If you want to create subtitles, you can go here.
