If you guys noticed my first sentence was; ‘‘May GOD forgive me for saying this, but I would never wear anything from a thrift stores much less furniture since during the past year we hear so much about bed bugs and other critters that are around the world infecting stuff.’’
So I made it clear I feel guilty of not being part of the thrifting era we have now (when I was in my teens that’s all my mother bought us used clothes). Anyway, that doesn’t mean I don’t donate to thrift shops, The salvation Army and others. I also Donate money to The Red Cross, Saint Jude and the Cancer Research Institute. I do my part of trying to make up for not been able to buy on Thrift Shop.
simi11 - My neighbor’s daughter who returned from Africa had to throw away her suitcase with everything, cos it was infested with bedbugs… and this might be a rare case.
It’s not a rare case at all since in my gorgeous so clean Island, several resorts and Hotels had to close, throw all mattresses and Furniture, disinfect, re-paint all the rooms, in order to get rid of the Bed Bugs infestations some tourist from other countries had brought into those bungalows (mainly those near the beaches). It can happen.
This past summer we had CICADAS here in USA and those hideous things make the most constant horrible noise that drove many crazy, but so far this year I haven’t heard them; so I think they got rid of them. I don’t know how they put up with that noise in Asian countries since I heard them when the actors are filming scenes outside close to the trees. lol
I and my kids Donate new clothes, shoes with store tickets on; so I know thrift shops have new items, too, but they are always mixed with the used clothes and stuff so it doesn’t change my mind about buying in there bc after all is my OCD condition that won’t let me even if I would try it now since I break into rash and get severe itching when I pass by them only and right now talking about this I’m all itchy! So yeah is mental

I totally understand the whole OCD part about it. I don’t buy used clothes, I won’t even wear my siblings clothes because I find it gross. I will not drink after anyone, eat after anyone. I just find it repulsive, because you have no idea where someone elses mouth has been. If I go to thrift stores, I will only buy clothes with their original tags on them. I still get home and wash them before wearing them. My mother calls me odd but that’s just me.

I’m just seeing people attack you about it, but if you don’t have OCD and deal with the issues, us people who have it do. You don’t really understand. I’m glad I could make you feel a bit better about it. I don’t eat pizza often myself because of that, I’ll make it myself and eat it but if it’s anyone else. It makes me sick.

I do know where y’all are coming frrom, OCD is something else, maybe I shouldnt, but I do wish I had a bit of it, but not to the extremes, some of my families have it, and when we get together, it is hilarious!! so I don’t put stuff away, and “she” comes behind me and gets what ever and put it where it belongs. oh yeah clutter is the biggie for her!! and I love her dearly. again I do wish>>>>> well be ware of what you ask for, might get it! heheheheheh, yes I do feel much better about this conversation, thanks for clearing it up
@auttygotty
I’m so used to getting attack in here I don’t even notice sometimes. But right now I have a stalker staff member (I have an idea whom she/he is) deleting every post I make here lately, and while others may comment worse stuff than I do, they never get flagged and deleted. One thing I like about that attack, and is that every person that has hurt me/try to hurt me in my life here or anywhere else;, when their time comes, I feel so sorry for them. Especially if they make me angry the outcome is worse for them, and I can swear to you I don’t ever wish them bad since is not in my nature, it sadly, just happens.
People like you are put in other’s (my) path for a reason, and you having the same condition is not pure coincidence. There is a higher power that wants to show people that no matter how much hate/disdain/racism even, they may spread here or in the world, there is plenty of love, understanding, compassion to go around. There is not enough hate, abuse, racism, criticism, in this world that cannot be overcome by LOVE< KINDNESS (like yours/Thanks!). May you and your family be blessed with abundant happiness and prosperity bc LOVE and KINDNESS you are blessed with plenty of, and I’m glad to have met you even though not personally I met your soul and it was an honor for me.
I’m so sorry you get attacked here often. No one has the right to do such a thing, especially deleting your posts. Abuse of power much? Your topic is nowhere near as bad as some of the threads I’ve seen. I’m glad to have met you, you’re a kind soul that is just trying to live your day to day life. I’m glad I was able to help you feel better about this topic. OCD comes with a bunch of struggles and I deal with it daily. People who don’t have it, and think they know how it is, have no clue how hard it can actually be. It’s not just wanting to stay organized and clean, it’s many other things.

Don’t feel bad, angelight. I’m not a big fan of drinking someone’s backwash either. LOL! Especially in this day and age of antibiotic resistant bacteria, etc.

My opinion regarding the above discussions regarding…
O.C.D./ T.O.C. is a mental disorder and not immediately known or recognized by everyone, as a result those who do not know immediately categorize people who have obsessive-compulsive behavior as “some strange” and even blame them… This behavior towards compulsive people ( behavior obsessive-compulsive) is undesirable because it fuels/increases obsessive fears…
But most people, when they find out, understand the person/persons with this condition what they face, accept the situations without further criticism or comments…
Regardless of whether or not it is a medical or mental condition, criticizing the actions or inactions of others, behaviors, cataloging, defining and lamenting them… immediately and without having knowledge/seeing in depth the causes that generate them, not only hurts the person in question, but above all they cause confusion by fueling discussions contradictory, they also lead others ignorant into even greater confusion and we don’t want that.
“It’s easier to throw stones and point fingers” than to spend time analyzing, understanding, accepting…
Those who don’t know shouldn’t be blamed because they don’t know, we just have to have the patience to explain to them. But both those who don’t know and those with this condition must understand that we are different, even unique, imperfect but understanding, willing of knowledge, self-knowledge and especially acceptance.

If it sounded like I was attacking anyone I’m sorry that was never ever my intention, I understand that we all are different and that’s what’s make the world better.

To freely express your options, opinions, choices, without blaming behavior , the choices of others didn’t seem like “personal attacks” to me… but there are people who feel attacked… that’s their opinion, mine:
- maybe they didn’t understand that everyone has the right to their own choices,
- without playing “the role of the victim” ( in general, those who do this feel the need for attention) - we accept that we are different, we do not criticize, we dialogue, we understand and respect everyone’s choices.
“It’s easier to throw stones and point fingers” than to spend time analyzing, understanding, accepting…

THESE words you wrote above says it all in one. Each and everyone’s right to their own opinion or thinking people are playing the victim is a matter of our own choice to start throwing stones and point fingers or take time in analyzing, understanding, accepting. I would say trying to walk in those shoes, and see what that feels like; is just the most humane thing to do.

This is my last such comment.
First of all, we should all analyze ourselves. Self-knowledge, self-evaluation and introspection are the first steps in psychological evolution… aren’t we some of those described above?
Are you sure that you weren’t once one of the people who criticized, cataloged, and didn’t complain about someone’s behavior, immediately and under the impulse of the emotional impact?
I asked a rhetorical question that you don’t have to answer, I repeat it’s just rhetoric, I don’t want to offend you
Through education, self-education, trying to be more understanding, better in what we do and how we live, through our own example of learning, applying, correcting, improving, we pave a better way not only for us but, above all, for the generations to come after us, for a better world.
So we learn and remember to say more often and now I say to everyone: hello, thank you, I’m sorry, forgive me, I love you.

I personally think most of all those rules are illegal and of course, unconstitutional no matter what country wants them enforced.
What are constitutional rights?
Amendment U.S. Constitution
|Amendment|Ratified|Description|
|1st|1791|Rights to Religion, Speech, Press, Assembly, Petition|
Now, I will always respect every religion no matter how extreme I may feel they are. I even read part of the Qur’an because I wanted to understand everyone’s religion so we I avoid disrespecting them more out of ignorance, but never ever out of malice or because is not the religion I believe in.
Ironically and in the end, being a ‘‘RELIGIOUS PERSON’’ is not going to a church on Sundays, or worshipping in a temple or believing in GOD(s). Is doing Good, loving one another, giving bc is by giving that we receive. If we give good things, good things will come back to us.
I have some relatives that are ATHEIST, and some of them even worship the devil. That doesn’t stop me from showing them love, and helping them, if they need me to help them. I DO always WARN them one thing; I don’t talk to you about the GOD I love and believe in to any of you, so never talk to me about what you believe in, to me. Once they try showing me the cross upside down or their version of their bible, I’m out the door and they know better now. My ex now, was an atheist, and would tell me he would burn if he went inside a church. When our daughter was born I wanted her to be baptized and he went inside the church, and didn’t get burned. Ever since he got Covid he started reciting the ROSARY every day before going to bed. I guess he found religion on his own. What we believe in, has to come from our heart. I never close my door to Jehovah’s Witness, and listen to them when they knock on my door, i take their literature and give them a donation. I respect every religion as much as I can, as long as they respect me and what I believe in.
I’m Agnostic and proud of it, I’m not ashamed, my parents are Christian, and I’ve just never been able to believe he does exist, and that he does not. I respect people of all religions, I was raised to be that way. I’m still pretty young, I’m only 18, so sometime in the future I might change my mind. I know it’ll happen, but for now. I’m just trying to figure out why religion is such a ‘bad’ topic.
