Sorry, I dropped the ball on barista duties. Maybe that’s why literally no one stopped by today.
I see now that the hotties are the only reason anyone comes around.

Hey! Nice choice of barista!
So random comment: I’m in my extremely happy place right now because as of 10 pm tonight I finally got my HP laptop with Beats (yeah, it’s an old laptop and the speakers have never worked properly after it crashed) to start playing the sound through its speakers. Guess what I’m currently playing @kdrama2020ali??? My Goblin CDs!!! OMG!!! The sound is awesome!!! Happy happy, joy joy!!!
(It’s the simple things that make me happy).
That is Happiness!
Ok Random LoveFest for DO again! I swear I’m so in love with this Prince character losing his memory! I like this historical WAY better than Mr Queen. The sweet romance while he’s clueless but arrogant! Aw, if only people weren’t trying to kill him & people are deceiving him. That can’t end well. DO - Lovefest 2021 Continues!
Can he be our Barista so I can look at him.??
Someone post me some photos here or in Hottie Posse!!!
Hi! I’d like one of those cream horns, please, Mr. Barista. Thanks!
I listened to an interesting podcast episode about the origins of K Pop and they mentioned that the idol music has strong influence/roots from American R&B, Hip Hop, and Rap. They played a few songs and you can clearly hear that. I wasn’t surprised because when I first watched some K Pop videos, they reminded me of Motown so much.
Anyway, the podcast mentioned the importance of Boa and how she was the first K Pop star to penetrate the Japanese market when she released a Japanese language album and that the rest of K Pop followed her lead to release Japanese language albums and songs. I understand that is now standard pratice in the industry almost 20 years later since Japan is the 5th largest music market in the world. I wonder why K Pop stars aren’t releasing English language albums with the same regularity? I know a few groups, like Monsta X, have released English language albums in recent years, but it still seems to be a rarity. USA and UK are in the top 5 music markets worldwide (actually US is #1) , so I am surprised that the K Pop industry has not catered to the English speaking market since they have been catering to the Japanese speaking market for over 20 years now. Why cater to the one and not the other? Interesting.

Hv a yummy dessert with me!
and that ballcap with our LOGO is fabulous
I’m glad they mentioned Boa because she was revolutionary, but she’s 1st generation so new kpop stans ignore her influence.
I wonder if this is because it’s notoriously difficult for an Asian singer to make it big in North America. So the industry just assumed Kpop wouldn’t be welcomed. I’d wager there are more famous North America Kpop singers than those who stayed in, or went North America. Maybe the kpop music execs thought why work so hard to break into an unwelcoming continent when China & Japan are so close.
" Korean American artist Paul Kim, also known as P.Keys. Kim, who writes, produces, and performs mostly original R&B music, says in an interview with Bustle that many music executives told him that if it weren’t for him being Asian, he would be signed to a major label successfully." source
Why There Are So Few Asian Artists In Mainstream American Music (bustle.com)
“When Asian Americans aren’t represented [in the U.S.] and we don’t have the opportunity, but you still want to pursue the arts, what are you going to do? You’re going to go where you are accepted.” Source Eric Nam in this article

Asian-Americans Are Disrupting An Unwelcoming Music Industry (buzzfeednews.com)
That’s an interesting topic. I’d never really thought about it other than noticing that there were a number of Kpop group members who are transplants from North America.
Since we have been on the subject of D.O., it’s fitting that he did include an English version of one of his new songs on his new album. Also fitting because it’s catchy and has a good cafe vibe, if I do say so myself, but I might be biased.
Quick, someone take my temperature or schedule an appointment with a therapist - I think I must be ill. In a drama I’m watching, all the love lines have been severed (presumably temporarily because I’m not even halfway through), and yet here I am, the ultimate cheerleader of love lines, thinking that it might be better if everyone involved just takes a bit of time to mourn and then moves on. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME? This is pretty unfamiliar territory.
It would be refreshing if they actually did that though, the dramas where someone has been pining for decades are so irritating.
Of course, if they did that right now, the drama would be over after 5 episodes.

Didn’t you see it? The floor shining from all the Floor Cleaner we used. Our tall guys pulled all the ribbons from the ceiling while I, leader of the Shortie Squad, swept up all the confetti and remains of our party. We’re all standing in a line outside our classrooms, ready for the Chancellor’s inspection.
My projects have a crazy way of being dormant and draggy together and then suddenly they ALL decide to accelerate aT THE SAME TIME I’m trying to juggle a drama, a movie and my Ninja Academy assignment all of a sudden, after weeks of next to no movement on any of them.
Ill be back to wrangle those unruly baby birds so you can get some work done!
