I don’t mean to start a brawl or attack anyone just have a question that is bothering me. Recently there has been a trend on viki if you can call it that, where Cm had a drame and a remake of it appears, in another country and that cm does not get it. It went to someone new and the teams are sometimes different. That’s why I’m curious if the rules have changed and since the cast is from another country and it’s a remake, we don’t have to ask/complete the previous crew from the original. I’m asking because it varies, and I’d like to get a broader opinion, since my Cm-ed dramas too had like remake from other countries. There are cases of sequels go to other cm and movie version too. I myself didn’t got sequel once and lately I got movie version of drama, I wasn’t even a part of the team.
As I wrote, I’m not targeting anyone or anything specific with this question, just pure curiosity.
There has never been a written viki policy that the managership of a remake in another language of a drama would be assigned to the cm for the original drama. Also when there are sequels of a drama, there has never been a written policy that the CM of the original series would be offered the managership of season 2. There are a few instances in which viki did offer the subsequent seasons to the original manager but I think those were the exceptions rather than the rule.
Ok I understand but it’s kind or was weird for me since I got sequels and remake last year. And it’ll be a little to weird but maybe I’m exception if I have s1 and S2 and for S2 will choose completely other team. Still I understand that’s not written anywhere rules. Thank you for reply.
As per experience and personal opinion, I believe that sequels would be better to have the same team to keep things consistent. But remakes are like a different show so the team being different doesn’t affect all that much.
Exactly. I can get the logic of sequels (like in Yumi’s Cells 1 and 2), to keep the terminology consistent, but remakes? It’s a different language, different script (not to mention actors and director)!
