Me neither.
It seems that an eternity is the right answer
I received it today ! It was such a surprise.
If you don’t have it yet, I think it should be added soon on your profile.
Surprisingly, i’ve received BOTH of them at one today. But still no reply to my Korean 10 ticket
I got mine too extra happy
I got mine i got mine!!! cute lil tiger on my profile now! Thank you, Viki!!
I got both badges! Thank you Viki, how cute! I hope everyone got theirs too.
I received mine as well
Edit: what I did learn from this is that RSVP-ing doesn’t make any difference, so next time I can safe myself some time
I’m kinda sad, because they gave me the badge for top contributors (probably by mistake? I don’t know) and now they took it away…
I thought it happened to me only. I’m sad too. But I do have screenshots of both badges when they were applied. I guess they’ll serve as my “personal joy”. I wonder how many more among us…
Even if it was a mistake, why be so sneaky?
Must we volunteers always have to just shrug it off because of any so-called glitch aka vikibot/human mistake? ¯_(T_T)_/¯
Psst: How about sneakily putting it back, by mistake again?
We won’t tell anyone, we promise
This isn’t the first time it’s happened to me and probably won’t be the last time it happens either
It could be that, by adding contributors Viki didn’t initially know they contributed, the threshold of contributions for top 100 increased, as well.
How could that be? Shouldn’t the tabulation be done as a whole, within the subathon duration, and based on the overall participation? If not, I guess we’ll be seeing more additions that will be removed. That’s sad. It also means “the system of tabulating and awarding” needs to be revamped.
Since they have a limit of top 100 volunteers, perhaps some which had not received their badges in the first badge distribution belong to those 100.
For example, initially Viki’s faulty automatic system found this situation:
User A - 10.000 contributions
User B - 7.000
User C - 5.000
User D - 2.000
Proclaiming Users A, B and C as top 3 contributors.
But then a skipped user E comes along with 6.000 contributions, and pushes out user C from the top 3.
Exactly my point. How could this happen if it was automatic and tabulated based on all applicable contributions after the last contribution (sub or seg) was counted?
It baffles me. Perhaps algorithm isn’t all it’s hyped to be.
I know what I will not do. I won’t participate (and would opt out) until I can be assured that such mistakes or glitches are managed and will not happen again. Or if it will, that we should at least be notified and given an explanation. Not being given and then sneakily taken away, without a word of what had happened. If I hadn’t seen it, and didn’t know about it, I guess it’d have been better. Ignorance is bliss, after all.
I still think that one of the points of subathons (asides from motivating the community to translate) is to test some of Viki’s systems which record contributions and perform other similar tasks
