Hi there,
I decided to open a discussion thread for Kdrama Spy because sometimes you want to discuss various theories which cover a few episodes and the main comment section has to remain spoiler free.
What do you think so far? What will happen to our Sun Woo?
How has this drama been so far? I watched the first episode with all my hopes up, because I am a huge fan of Jaejoong, but I actually thought of it as a boring episode⊠I havenât seen the second one yet. Should I? Give me spoilers, guys! I want to know if Iâll like it or not!
I was curious about this drama. But for now Iâm not really convinced by it. The actress who plays the mother is great ! But for the storyâŠI donât know. Jae Joong has to be a great spy but he does his missions with a picture of his family in his wallet ? Ok this picture actually helped him but itâs weirdâŠ
This is exactly how I felt watching the first episode. I think the cast was very well chosen, but the plot misses attention on certain important detailsâŠ
Yeah that photo was a bit stupid but I guess they needed something to uhm how to say âintroduceâ them to each other and thought why not use a wallet with a picture, everything is possible in Kdramaland.
Maybe Iâm the only one who thinks this but I think Hwang Ki Chul isnât a 100% bad guy. Yes he killed people but he also puts his own life in danger which he doesnât have to do. He could have killed Sun Wooâs family or just taking Sun Woo and treating to kill his family if he doesnât cooperate with him. No instead he takes a risk and gives his parents a chance. Also if he was really all bad why didnât he report Sun Wooâs mom? He knew whee she lived.
I did read various books and saw documentaries about North Korea, one bad move or going against the regime can lead to your execution or when lucky camp for you and your family. So why is Kwang KI Chul taking such risks?! Of course itâs a Kdrama so they can decide to not stick to reality as much if that works better but still.
@Dudie I know what you mean, but honestly, I just think it was a poorly made script. You can see for the quality of the camera filters, the camera angles, the lines on the script, and many other details⊠That this K-drama is poorly made. It makes me a bit sad, maybe disappointed, but itâs a fact that we need to accept. From the beggining of the first episode I could notice the crappy-made production it is. Iâm not saying itâs a bad story nor that the actors are bad. They are in fact very talented. But the production itself is very disappointing. I study Cinema at university, so there we learn to notice this kind of stuff.
Itâs weird because, with such a great and well-selected cast, why would the production be so reckless?
