What the story about
It’s adapted from a famous Chinese author’s novel, where the main character, Yan Xi is a spoilt son from a respectable family and is the love interest of another girl- Xiu Zhu. Yan Xi then meets and falls in love with another girl- Qing Qiu, whom he eventually marries after many difficulties. However, their relationship takes a turn and the plot reveals itself to be a tragedy- portraying a critical view on marriage and traditional ‘happy endings’.
