wait so does viki get the dramas and give them to us to subtitle? or do other people just upload whatever dramas they want and make it available to subtitle?

I mean, you can’t upload whatever… But there are fan channels (noted by the orange ribbon on the channel images), where the manager/moderators can add videos. They’re not uploaded to Viki, but are linked over from either Youtube or Dailymotion.
Then there are official channels, where Viki has acquired rights to stream the show, and they provide the videos for those.
Any fan channel you make/submit will have to be approved by Viki. From what I know, they won’t approve any Japanese or anime fan channels right now. And if you create a fan channel for Korean drama that doesn’t get licensed, you’re not supposed to add videos (as far as I’ve seen).
