Welcome to August! We’ve got lover’s day, Subathon stats, and a couple of new items to share as summer wraps up.
Fun fact: Did you know that China has its own version of a Valentine’s Day? Traditionally known and celebrated as “Qixi Festival,” it takes place on the seventh day of the seventh month in the lunar calendar — this year, on Aug 10th!
Summer Subathon Wrap-up
Thank you to everyone who joined the fun for our 2024 Summer Subathon! Your enthusiasm and participation made it a huge success.
We are thrilled to announce that our Summer Subathon saw an incredible 2,686,614 total contributions! 
German emerged as the most popular subtitled language, followed by French and then Italian. And a total of 1,272 Contributors earned a point badge along with a special animal “selfie” participation badge. Here’s the detailed breakdown:
- 250-point tier: 329 Contributors
- 500-point tier: 334 Contributors
- 1,000-point tier: 456 Contributors
- 5,000-point tier: 99 Contributors
- 10,000-point tier: 54 Contributors
New Discussions Category
Have you seen the new category added to our Discussions Forum called “Viki Support & Product Updates”? This category will be managed by our Viki Customer Experience team and will keep you updated on any bugs and/or Viki streaming issues. Make sure to “follow” this category to stay up-to-date on any news and updates from Viki.
New Ticket Forms
Last August, we launched a new Contributor Help Center specifically for our Contributor community. 
Since then, we’ve been focusing on enhancing the ways we offer help. One recent improvement is the launch of additional ticket forms.
We now have specific forms for asking about Contributor perks or reporting any behavior violating our Contributor Guidelines. These forms will allow us to properly look into and resolve your issues quicker. Make sure your tickets are submitted through the Contributor Help Center!
