Although Viki hasn’t been able to fix the Continue Watching feature to update our ongoing shows, nor the Episode time mark of where we left off on a drama or movie, I would like Viki to add LEAVING SOON to the list. Viki has a Coming Soon section so it shouldn’t be too hard to WARN the viewers when a drama/movie they’re currently watching is dropping from the Viki platform.
Imagine my complete disappointment when logging into Viki to continue watching IT’S BEAUTIFUL NOW at episode 14 @ the 53 minute mark when it’s now showing NOT AVAILABLE IN YOUR AREA.I’m in search of another streaming site to watch Korean dramas specifically. Hopefully legal. If anyone has any suggestions for a site that retains the Currently Watching which the episode mark, and has a Leaving Soon fearture please comment. Viki has gotten too expensive to not have certain features available for it’s viewers. I currently have a $99.99 a year subscription Viki Pass Plus.
I had to go check because I was just recently watching “It’s Beautiful Now”, and you’re right, it now says it’s not available. it’s even more surprising because it was only very recently made available in the first place. Maybe there was a glitch with licensing, and they will get it straightened out because it’s weird that it was only here for a short time.
Regardless, it would be nice if Viki had a feature to let us know which things are leaving soon. Ntfx has this feature. I can’t speak for any other services.
It could be a ‘‘bug’’ and tomorrow or after you log in-out, it might be there bc I wanted to continue watching a drama (Ode to Joy 3), and it kept saying ‘‘Something is wrong’ contact help center’’ …but I just decided to try again after I log in-out, and the episode was there! Hopefully, that’s the case and you’ll be able to continue enjoying the drama.
There could be several issues other than a bug (that you can check on RViki twitter but I don’t have the link, sorry).
Hope it helps…
I found this one suggestion but I blurred the info in case; don’t want to break a rule (unintentionally of course).
We did ask for “leaving soon” years ago. If you think it’s frustrating when a series looses a licence in the middle of you watching it, imagine how it feels when that happens in the middle of you translating it. Obviously, this was way, way, way to hard for Viki to do.
Good and sought after shows usually get their licence renewed. You should file for renewal following this link:
The last time I experienced something like this was 4 years ago. Lovely Horribly just ended the broadcast 2-4 weeks, I don’t recall it exactly, and from now to then it was no longer accessible for out of Americas. I barely finished watching it, since I binged it. I don’t know when it got the license back, but it seems it does have it now.
Thank you SO much. Glitch during maintenance, I’m sure. Working fine this morn. I had time to reflect on WHY being able to view a certain drama made me so unhappy when there’re way more basic problems in the world for others such as not having running water, a place to lay their head at night, etc. I chastised myself thoroughly for being so very shallow.
