I’ve been getting a security alert for

for the last few minutes and can’t access the Viki site.
Anyone else seeing this?

No, but I’m on a Mac and most of the PC bugs don’t attack it
I can access it on mobile (using chrome)
It works on laptop, as well.
No, I’ve been on viki all day without any problems. (It’s a Windows laptop with Opera browser)
It seems to work now, it just went back to normal on its own…
I’ve had no prob either.
May I suggest this… you may have to run a virus check on your PC. Perhaps your PC has been ‘attacked’.
That was my first instinct. too, but my PC is healthy as ever.
Maybe it was a random thing.
@irmar I love Opera for some things but one big problem I have is when I move my cursor to the right a bit fast the page turns over like the forward button in the dashboard, I have not figured out how to avoid this… any idea?
Is it possible that you have enabled “Mouse gestures”? See here:
http://help.opera.com/opera/Windows/2393/en/fasterBrowsing.html#mouse
@irmar you saved my day, lol, a little wonder happened when I un-clicked the browser mousepad settings, I never knew it was there. Sometimes it’s good to have many options and sometimes not if you don’t know they are there, I don’t have Opera for that long but it’s easier for writing subs, IE constantly autocorrected German sub on my US laptop even when I switch to German keyboards.
Hail for Viki, a meeting spot for knowledge. I usually google things but I thought it was a part of the Opera fixed settings
Now one more question, any idea why Opera runs of memory when I watch a video with only 1 tab open?
I also didn’t. I had mindlessly checked the box but then I was too lazy to click on the link to see what it means. Now I went over all the settings and it caught my attention. Thanks to you I learned a new thing today. For now I unchecked it.
Oh, another funny thing. I discovered that Opera includes VPN. I said “Let’s try it”. I enabled it and then forgot about it.
Then a few hours later hotmail locks me out of my mail saying there has been suspicious activity, successful login from the Netherlands. I said “Who is that Dutch bastard who hacked my account?” and immediately changed password. Then I remembered that I had set the VPN to Netherlands. ROFL! I was the Dutch bastard - and the idiot.
By the way, I have no idea about this memory problem you have. Try to look it up. For every problem under the sun there seems to have been someone else who wrote about it and someone who gave a solution. I even found how to change my water filter on youtube.
@irmar to be honest I’m using an external keyboard on top of my keyboard since my keyboard of my laptop is messed up and the mouspad is on the right and the larger area has a printed criss/cross lines and I thought it must have something to do with that but it did not happen in IE, I feel like a victim of all these tech features and I won’t talk about iphone backup and restore
Yes I knew Opera has VPN I haven’t used it yet but I use Private window because O is a collector of history/cookies and even if I have 1 tab open there are 5-6 proccessing thread in Task Manager running incl. the O crasher, just why?
btw hotmail keeps checking where you are, I mean how do they keep track of all this? Gmail says I logged in from Opera, lol. - I get tired of these behind the curtain watch!!
This is an easy one: I have set it to delete all cookies (except for stored passwords) every time I close my browser. I had this setting in Firefox too, only that in Firefox you could clear all history as well. I’m not sure that clearing cookies deletes history in Opera. Probably not. Then the only option is to clear it manually
Yes, this tracking makes you feel that someone is breathing down your neck…
