Weird accounts following me

I can only contribute with one weirdo :upside_down_face:

Otherwise, mine are all volunteers (who have contributions) or viewers (who have ratings, playlists etc) :raised_hands:

here is the about me of one of them
I am an accurate and knowledgeable finance professional skilled at managing and monitoring high value budgets, analyzing budget proposals, and developing financial reports and statements. I like to explore the cricketbet9 mahadev book and analyze complex regulation and policy documents that impact budgetary and financial matters. I am a budget analyst successful at advising multi billion dollar corporations and small businesses.

i’ve absolutely no idea what that book about & don’t care to check :rofl::rofl::rofl:. can that book get rid of crickets???

Profiles that advertise, are breaking the guidelines, rules.

That’s why they think they are super clever, masking these predator websites within their nonsensical “About Me” page.

I don’t know… I know that this thread started seriously, but I must admit I found all this relatively amusing :speak_no_evil:

Ummm…

So, sometimes, when I don’t know what to watch or what to do on Viki, I just keep going through the entire site in the quest of finding something new.

And, I found a very, very, very long list of weird people.

“Online Casino Betting ID”, seriously?

And, these accounts have the same formatting. They even joined at the same time. Five of them had joined on the same date. Most of them joined from 2020 to 2023. I don’t really understand the idea of it. The mantras, the IDs, the contact numbers… Are they all from Black Markets?

The idea is as old as humans … I guess.
In our country we would say, they are waiting for that one fool that gets up every morning, and another fool the next day, aso …
They will do almost anything to get “your” money, well they won’t stand a chance if you are no fool.

I just saw this thread, so I’m late to the discussion, but I have a weird account following me. I used to have 2 weird accounts, but one of them finally got deleted. That 2nd account was an obvious advertising account and the person had also spammed comments in a lot of drama pages, so they got reported.

However, the other one remains. I find it totally creepy.

YES! I wish Viki would create some type of block option. Other sites have it.

Off topic, but what exactly is the Following option? What happens if you Follow someone? I mean, anyone can look at a profile by clicking on it. So what is the point of the Following option at Viki?
It feels rather unsettling to me.

I sometimes follow people, if I want to have a quick access to their profile as Viki doesn’t allow you to search for users (you can only type a link in, if you know the full username).
Also I follow people to remember them for future occasions.

This is the same reason I follow people. It’s usually because they have collections I like or write reviews I enjoy reading. Finding people who write great reviews can sometimes lead me to dramas I’d never have thought of watching on my own.

This was the preferred method to communicate. Find out about upcoming shows, so we could request the license for shows on Viki. Notifying the teams of volunteers etc. . .
The about me tab on each profile, can be very helpful for teams.

The, now, almost never used, direct message :email: :e-mail: :incoming_envelope: :inbox_tray: in-box, is also a reason to follow other fans. This is found on each subscription profile for the Viki App, and website. The messaging here in discussions is, of course, on a separate platform, hence the reason to login, as it is for disqus’s platform.
