I know, right? I didn’t really like Penthouse or some others that received crazy high ratings… But the ratings usually make sense if you factor in people’s double standards. A really nonsensical historical cdrama will get an 8.4 rating because it’s better than most silly, nonsensical historical cdramas(This is comeing from my own experience). While a wonderful, mature drama like Tomorrow With You gets an 8.0 rating because the fantasy plot isn’t as good as Goblin or Doom At Your Service.
Great!! If you like it, you can join our TWY fanclub… it will be open for a verrry long time
I’m a Pet At Dali Temple just dropped a couple of hours ago! All 22 episodes. They are pre-subbed but the team needs to fix some timing issues and do the subs for the hard text and signs, etc. I’ve been waiting for this a long time!
It’s so darned CUTE! and it has cutie-pie Xu Kai Cheng! (Boss Ling from ‘Well Intended Love’)
This has been one of my ‘currently watching’ for a while. It’s pretty good, but at the same time it doesn’t seem to keep my interest longer than a half episode at a time. I haven’t been tempted to drop it, though, because I still want to know what’s going to happen, so I just keep working my through slowly.
I should mention that the FL has some of the most beautiful dresses I’ve seen, just one after another.
I’ve been gone a little bit - just moved out of one house overseas to another continent! Whew! But when I’ve had time, I’ve been watching some really different things than my normal dramas while I wait for the shows to finish airing–got too sick of waiting for a next episode every few days. On viki, I’ve been watching “Change My Home” – it’s a reality tv type show where two teams get 12 hours to execute a professional design for a room of their house with provided supplies. It’s so great seeing the different room designs! And it’s a lot less mean spirited than US shows like this. They get lightly judged by how well they implement the design, but my favorite part is just seeing the different needs each family has for their rooms and how they customize them to this.
On Netflix, I’ve been watching “So Not Worth It.” At first I hated this one because of the confusing pivots from one subplot to another, and the laugh track is ridiculous and unnecessary (and doesn’t even correlate well to the funny parts of the show)… In general I don’t like sitcoms at all! But 7 episodes in and I’m -loving- this. Stayed up late watching it just because I was enjoying it too much to put down. And it has so many hilarious nods to other kdramas… It’s just really good. Laughed my behind off last night at the Song Joong Ki lookalike soldier. And it’s really interesting to see such an ethnically diverse cast in a Kdrama. The male lead (Shin Hyeon-seung) is definitely one to watch. He looks half my age but every time I see him onscreen he looks more and more handsome.
I LOVED that one. I was just like you. I came very close to dropping it after the first ep. or 2, but it was actually ‘so worth it’ to stick with. The laugh track was really distracting at first. Who uses a laugh track during outdoor scenes? It was so odd and out of place, but either they stopped using it as much or it just started to fade into the background, because I quit noticing it at some point. Overall, I was just really entertained. It ended on a cliffhanger, though, so I’m really hoping there will be another season.
I just reached the end of one of the dramas I’ve been watching, only to find out it ends on a cliffhanger with no clear information about whether season 2 is going to happen. That will teach me to start a drama without reading reviews first. I don’t care about spoilers, but I can’t stand being blindsided like that.
I should check this one out! I’m used to laugh tracks because I lived on American family sitcoms at one point of time
awww I alwayyyyssss check the reviews, especially if it’s a Chinese drama. Sometimes they leave season 2 and season 3 on cliffhangers too and then drop the project if it doesn’t have enough viewers!!
I do 99% of the time if I don’t already know about the drama, but this was on a different app where there are no reviews right on the drama’s homepage, so I didn’t think much about it. Lesson learned to seek out reviews on MDL or something.
It’s what you’d expect from an Academy Award winner… very artistically made. I really loved some shots, especially the one where the husband and wife hold each other while they watch their hard work get consumed by flames. It makes you think, and I liked the ending, too. It gave the message that it didn’t matter whether they succeeded or failed a few times before succeeding. You just know that they’re gonna stick together and be happy whatever they do. The little boy was soooooo cute with his little dimples!
