@my_happy_place THANK YOU for your baby angel cupcake collection! I started Thirty but Seventeen because of that and WOW I didn’t expect to see my man Lee Do Hyun there! And Ahn Hyo Seop and Jo Hyun Sik! I am going to ENJOY this!!
I’m glad they show her going through rehab and physiotherapy after she gets out of coma… most shows have the person walking and running around in no time!
Edit: Two episodes in and I’m LOVING it!! It’s soooo funny, there’s a total star cast and everyone’s acting has me in STITCHES! I love every single character I’ve encountered till now!
I also appreciated the respectful way they handled each others’ problems. I loved that he was mature enough to let her go and find her own path. And how he allows her to make her own decisions even though he might not like them. It was refreshing to watch!
Ashes of Love
I’m only on episode 4, but I love the innocence of Jin Mi, which I’m surprised by, because I usually find that sort of aloofness to be annoying.
Before that, I was watching Ancient Detective!
Is anyone watching this one?
The first ep was pretty good! I have really high hopes for this one and it doesn’t look like it’ll disappoint. The cinematography is really daebak— It’s playful and fast-paced!
I’m ready to plunge into the deep, dark hole of an On Air drama!
I really want to see that one, but you know that pesky pass that I don’t have that always acts like the terrible mother-in-law who forbids me from seeing the one I love.
It’s a wonderful slice of life-ish film. If nothing, watch it for the cute little actress, Jung So Yeon. She is SEVEN years old and already has a main role she acted the HECK out of! And this is her first movie! I already fell in love with her character in Flower of Evil and that’s why I decided to watch this one. She plays the role of a blind and deaf little girl whose mother suddenly dies. My heart broke over her terrible living conditions… the beginning of the movie was pretty hard to watch.
The movie also brings to light something really sad about Korea— they don’t have a blind-deaf combined education program!! I was so shocked and saddened when a lady tells ML that the girl has to join either the hearing disability program OR the visual disability program. The ML leaves after telling her “But she can’t hear the teacher in the VD class and can’t read sign language in the HD class!”
I hope change comes soon.
it’s beautiful to watch how ML adopts and cares for this child. He’s very callous at first but his heart starts to thaw out. I was really blown away by the girl’s acting. Give it a watch, it’s only and hour and 40 minutes long!
On another note, has anyone noticed the ginormous number of noona romances being produced lately? Almost 70% of the upcoming dramas have noona romances in them. All three of my favorite young actors(Lee Do Hyun, Bae In Hyuk, Hwang In Yeop) are set to star in noona romances. I read an article on upcoming modern cdramas and, again, there was a majority of noona romances.
Personally, I don’t really like the genre so it’s a little tiring to search and dig around for dramas now. It’s always the same disillusioned older woman and the young, carefree boy. I guess I can’t relate.
I just finished my second go-round of Goblin and let me tell you, I am so glad I did re-watch this one. This time around it meant so much more to me as I understood the plot a lot better. The first time I watched it on a streaming service whose name shall not be spoken and the quality was not super good and some episodes were out of order. This time, WOWSERS!!! So much better! I believe I was even more emotional the second time. Now I’m watching Where Stars Land with Lee Je-hoon from, you guessed it, Tomorrow With You. 14 eps in and it’s pretty good!
