I started this one on a whim. I didn’t really have any expectations, given I knew nothing about it and am not always a fan of the younger ML. However, after a few episodes, I am entertained. It’s part thriller, part action, with a healthy dose of comedy and a hilarious bromance brewing.

Because I’d seen some positive recommendations, I started watching this one. I’m kind of feeling like I’m on a roller coaster ride. Just when I think I’ve got the plot sorta figured out, it goes off in another direction. It’s not unpleasant to watch but I’m getting a little tired of the way they keep dragging out the ‘fake’ marriage. Jeong Jinwoon isn’t hard to look at either (2ML).

Watched this a looong time ago… If my memory is right, I enjoyed it quite a bit, though its not a favorite. It has lots of things to think about, though some scenes were way too cringey for my taste. Has one of the best ending scenes in Dramaland.

I’ve rewatched this one a few times. I like how it addressed things that aren’t in a typical drama.

Summary

The scene that will always stick to me is the one where the fl was at a gathering with the MIL (I think) and she needed to use the bathroom (#2) sooooo bad, but she couldn’t find one. The one at the restaurant was occupied (or not working, can’t remember) so she went outside trying not to have an accident. But she was so unlucky, she did have an accident and then MIL was standing there, and then the wind blows… (strangest thing, was the way they edited that moment was pure perfection and humiliating) I don’t know how they managed to get the embarrassment so realistic. But I’ll never forget that scene. lol

That segment was pretty darned funny. She must have left the table 3 or 4 times to try to relieve herself before finally resorting to going outside.
It reminded me so much of the American movie Bridesmaids where the bride and all the bridesmaids ate bad food at a restaurant and got food poisoning, then went to try on wedding apparel in a wedding shop. The funniest part was where there weren’t enough toilets at the shop and the character played by Melissa McCarthy crawls up on the vanity and does her thing in the sink. So gross but sooooo funny too!

I loved this. It was not the best in that year and thus far, but it was enjoyable and I loved the OTP (Yeon Woo Jin and Han Groo). Missing FL Han Groo who had left the profession (she was very good IMO) after marriage. Hope she’ll be enticed to return someday.

I did too. It was a good rom-com. And believe I will again lol.

This scene was the reason i deducted one star from the drama… i just could not stomach it and it was honestly more disgusting than funny. Both ML and FL got into such crazy, embarrassing situations!

I can’t disagree with that. Honestly, I really didn’t understand why they had to include that part. It didn’t really add anything to the plotline other than to show a very uncomfortable situation that none of us would want to experience.

Started Hwarang just so I could get the cute Binge Challenge badge and it looked like the best if the lot…

I can already tell that I’m going to be twisting knives into my own body with this drama. I know I have never ever been swayed by SMLs, except in that terrible, horrible, no good, very bad drama called School 2015. But this drama… oh dear I really really cannot help myself :sob::sob: I tried. I REALLY tried to love ML over SML but I just can’t. ML is a nice character… but maybe I just have it really bad for reckless, funny, noble, heart-of-gold Crown Princes. Or maybe its just because I love Park Hyung Sik. Whatever the case, I have taken an irreversible liking to this Crown Prince. His character is so complex and he makes good choices. I really wish they didn’t make him fall for FL. I would have enjoyed it even if he had no romantic plotline, his character intrigues me THAT much.
And our sweetheart Minho. There’s no way I can’t like him. Every time he flashes that irresistible smile, I clitch at my heart and swoon just like all the other historical women there.

This is going to be one hell of a ride for my heart. I’m stopping as soon as I reach Episode 4 so I can get that badge, keep my heart intact, and pass my exams :flushed:

I agree with this 100%. I really felt like the romance storyline was completely unnecessary in this drama. And I was with you in loving the SML. I was ready to suit up in those Hwarang robes and protect the Crown Prince/PHS alongside all those other great characters.

Agree, I liked this one and was so, so surprised by how thoughtfully the topic was handled. And the emphasis on consent and openmindedness just made it so refreshing.

Anyone else watching “Forecasting Love and Weather”? It’s got Park Min-Young and Song Kang, very familiar–but pretty!–faces. The first two episodes are very good; it starts out with some spectacular relationship nosedives, even a side plot with a minor character, but so far I am hooked.

Also been watching Why Women Love, which is so so good (this one has its own whole thread, but TLDR: I am a sucker for good chemistry and they have that in abundance).

I think I’ll pick Hwarang too. At least the plot is the least sad one… heh heh heh or is it?:sob:

Gotta get that badge though! lol

I agree. Hwarang is the least sad/annoying drama in that list.

Yes, I just started watching Forecasting Love and Weather last night. I love Park Min-young and Song Kang and you are correct. They are a good-looking couple. I have a feeling the spat between the FL and her ex-fiancé’ is going to get very ugly before it is all settled. NF is coming up with some good stuff.

2nd episode in and Lee Kwang Soo’s character is already assassinated. :sob: I forgot most of the plot so that took me off guard. I only remember V’s character dying. And that was super sad. I’m kinda prepared for it though. I think lol
