I personally wish that the K-drama “thing” of including bits of really good cultural and historical inforrmation in story lines might expand just a bit in a second season of Hwayugi. The ancient text this drama is based on (Journey to the West) is the spiritual and cultural ancestor of the modern novel. I have only read excerpts of it but would love to know more about it.
