I would love to visit before my health lets me down.I’m retired now but am single and live alone.with no chance of a travel companion.I’m not a very good socialiser so group travel would not be ideal and would be expensive.However, the thought of seeing the sights i see regularly in the different series; the markets and street food tents (if they really exist).I want to see if the kids a young adults are as cute and innocent as they are depicted ; i often have happy tears in my eyes watching them ; do all CEO’s have armies of black suited bodyguards? lol.I’d like to experience life in the outer city limits and countryside as well as taking in some of that breathtaking scenery .It would be interesting to spend some time staying with a family there;although i’m not sure i could sleep on the floor these days and no way could i sit at floor level to eat .A bottle of Suji please.Sorry, i’m rambling on,but i’ve been put in a dreamy mode imagening being there.Smiles.

@auroratasya,
I think you had a post asking places to visit in Korea but I can’t find it. So I’m replying back here.
I just saw this from a friend’s blog and thought of you so here it is.

I SO want to visit South Korea. I’ve fallen in love with not only the dramas, but the culture as a whole. I love learning about other countries and their culture as a whole, but I particularly love SK and their food for one; they are so colorful, healthy and delicious! I’ve tried a few dishes here in the States, but I would love to go and visit an actual restaurant in SK. Especially the smaller ones (Mom and Pop) where you sit around the table and cook your own meat along with those wonderful homemade dishes. And I would also like to visit and stay in one of the bathhouses, visit Jeju Island and watch the ajumma’s in their 60s dive and hunt for abalone…that is so amazing at their age, visit some of the drama sites, etc… There’s just so much I’d like to do once I’m there. I’ve even started speaking some basic Korean, not much. It becomes natural when you’re a drama fan. I really hope to visit SK in the near future.

Aahhh ddeokboki… LOVE it. There is a small korean restaurant close by and they sell that rice cake. My husband and I love it so much!
I might stop by and taste theirs as we plan to go to Ha Ha’s restaurant @ Hongdae too - who knows we might bump with him serving his customers. LOL.

Is this the address for that rice cake place? I just googled it.
서울시 마포구 서교동 407-21
Seoul City, Mapo-gu, Seoul, Korea 407-21 (Near Hongdae station)

My husband has said one year we will go sooooooo at sometime in our lifetime yes there is plans. First though I need to get him here to Canada >_<. and get settled before we even consider it plus we will have to travel back and forth between India so it’ll be some time yet though hopefully within the next 10 years if not sooner. I would also like to travel to Japan there are soooooooooooo many places I see in the dramas I want to go to and see for myself. #1 destination is finding that lock and key place…silly I know but I just find that one of the most romantic things. Sure I suppose you could do that anywhere but I want do at the place they always film it :stuck_out_tongue:
Not 100% sure I would try all the things I see them eat though…the chances of me eating a moving octopus are about as likely as me running out naked in this -35 weather we just had last month…but who knows??? o_O
