this Japanese subathon is meant for all Japanese content that needs subtitling, not only for the “coming soon”… see in project finder… more japanese content…

Not everyone is going to want the badge. I, for one, will stay with my own projects and work on them. Scratch one possible segmenter right there.

(This would not be the case had we acquired say, Sanada Maru…or any other of the really awesome NHK historical dramas)

I wish the Teams great fortune in this enterprise and perhaps you will embrace project completion well ahead of a normal curve. :

GeNie of the Lamp will not require a badge…:)…there’s this Blazing Saddles* quote that constantly arrives with the mention of “badges”…

FYI even if you don’t reach the Subathon 50 first count for special badge, a contributor of 300 subs/segs on Japanese content should be getting a “Japanese genre Badge”. At this time it seems the count isn’t working and Viki has been informed and contributors are waiting for the fix. More in this link:

Are you sure the old shows count? On the original post, it specifically says it’s for the new ones:

If you sub on the old content you should get only the Japanese genre badge when you reach 300 subs/segs and YES it doesn’t appear to be a part of the SUBATHON

Dear Camille,
did you receive my report (#341246) about a hoarder moderator?

This person has 57 projects out of which only 3 completed.
Including 4 on-air dramas, yet completely untouched and without a team, although in half of them there are more than 20 episodes already released.
Why I’m mentioning this here? Because I see she has asked and got moderation in one of these Japanese projects.
Why are these people allowed and encouraged here on Viki?

P.S. The report was only 6 days ago, so I wouldn’t expect viki staff to address it so soon, but when I saw that this person is even here…

I remember reading somewhere that it was only new Japanese titles but couldn’t find where.

I’m sure no harm was intended, but this is just a gentle reminder that the abbreviation “Jap” for Japanese is generally considered to be offensive.

We segmenters segmented Hakuoki SSL: Sweet school life as soon as it’s been provided, so before november 3.
Will we be able to get the Japanese badge yet?

We had the same thing @
I Am Reiko Shiratori! - Shiratori Reiko de Gozaimasu! and I was wondering about that too since we segged as soon as it was uploaded and that was before November 3.
