And I am only on yt, for me, it is really a thing of awareness, I got better but even after so many years most of you are better in it.

My junior year in college, my roomies and I had a guy friend over for a meal which was not terribly inspired, but we all liked it: mac and cheese with green peas and tuna. He was definitely our sunbae but was a very lively fellow with a child-like sense of wonder about life. He loved simple, filling food.
While everyone at the table was waiting for the cook for that day to bring the casserole from the kitchen, our friend started making up a song about macaroni and cheese and pounding on his plate with his dinner knife. It was a geat song, a very fun song, brought to a halt when he cracked his plate in half.
THAT was enthusiasm.

I have just been made aware of poor Showry whose YouTube food porn videos are fueled by ill-defined and misplaced anger at her Korean culture, herself, food, and men.
I myself have hated (as long as I have been an adult) the evil of making women think that an appreciation for good, nourishing food is some kind of moral failing. That someone coming out of Korean culture could so hate everything in it that is good and comforting–that is a great sadness.

Oh, yeah.
Soooo tired all the time. So thinking of where to get “Asianese” food all the time.
(Nepali neighbors just reopened a tiny store and restaurant a couple of months ago, and I had my first Nepali meal in a year and a half.)
Plus it’s still a shock to be allowed out in the sunshine and walk down the street without people crossing to the other side.

I know what you mean today I had to quickly go into town and the sun was shining pretty warm weather, and you saw tables and chair outside the cafés and the ice cream parlor and so many people walking bye, it felt like in a movie (just waiting for a spotlight to fall, down - what movie was it again?)
It was all so lively and at the same time surreal.
