Well, it’s part of the Women in disguise genre that usually features young girls who are feed up with society’s inequality, so they dress up as boys in order to help out their families and prove that they, too, are just as intelligent and skilled as their male counterparts. Sungkyunkwan Scandal, in particular, does a wonderful job at this. I mean, it put Park Min Young on the map. It also tackles other hard-hitting subjects that ripple throughout the entire Joseon Kinkdom and hopefully our society as well. You’ve seen a bit of that with the quotes I posted. Anyway, it’s a classic. You’ll love. If you’re going to watch just one drama, then choose Sungkyunkwan Scandal.

I really loved Sungkyunkwan Scandal bc the real message in the drama was the inequality women have faced through the ages, and the way they have fought against it.
