Instead of posting on such an outdated topic (this one is from 2017 and you also posted on a 2016 one), maybe you should go on the Project Finder page or the Coming Soon page and check the channels without Afrikaans subs. Since you have zero contributions and you are from a very small community, I recommend you start with some movies. They are short and can help you build some history.
Make sure to include in your application some details about why you want the channel and since you are new, some information about your linguistic preparation.
As for Korean to English (I saw it in your new topic), Viki stopped long ago to bring unsubbed series, so now for the Asian languages, you can only be a TE (Translation Editor) or do CC (closed captioning).

Somehow it all sounds strange to me. You write in another thread that you want to participate as a segmenter and that you have graduated from the NSSA, but you give two different IDs, one non-existent, the other with 0 contributions. When asked, the old profile is apparently no longer accessible and you have created a new one.
There is no response to the information about what you can do now.
Instead, you are now looking for something to translate and don’t know the terms that have been around for ages, even though they are explained by Robert. And you also state that you are a newbie. What’s true, I’m somehow confused?
I sincerely apologise for the confusion. I wanted to be a segmenter before. However, I contacted a friend and she said that I would have to resit the NSSA thing. She then further explained the qualifications etc for being a subtitler and said that this is good for me because of the 3 languages that I speak. That is why I am focusing on subtitling now.
Would that be such a problem? If you have done it before, you will probably get through it without too much stress.
It is nowadays hard for speakers of small languages to start translating on Viki. It’s not allowed to be a subtitler without moderator anymore so the only way to translate on your own is to be added as the moderator of your language for your show of choice. But you can’t be a moderator until you created 3,000 subtitles in your language so if there is no experienced speaker of your language active on Viki, it’s going to be very difficult.
