Hello and welcome back.
Since you’ve been away for so long, you might want to know that a lot has changed for segmenters. There are no unsubbed shows anymore so segmenting from scratch is not an option anymore. Nowadays, all we do is improve the segments that are already there.
All shows now have presubs in at least 2 languages (English + Portuguese) and sometimes even 4 (English, Portuguese. Spanish, and French.) All those languages have to be preserved during A&C (adjust & combine, the process of correcting the existing segments) because Viki doesn’t want the viewers to be without subtitles even for a moment. This means we have extra work and we need to pay extra attention in order not to lose subtitles (though the CS will save them in advance in case of emergency).
In case you are still interested, the NSSA has a course for old segmenters to make them familiar with the new ways. Alternatively, your CS could teach you. For your first show since your comeback, try looking for a show with only English and Portuguese subs.
I don’t have anything suitable to offer you at the moment, but some other CSs who might have a spot for you in their team (provided you are willing to learn the new ways) are @baepsae29 @bjohnsonwong @porkypine @maria_lavendula_77 @a_hauth_238 @lyam_88 @deval_chloe @iamsolyne
At the moment I don’t have a show that’s recruiting seggers, but don’t hesitate to contact me later on if you can’t find anything. @yassou The reason I became a CS is to help newbies (or seggers wanting to come back again).
Hi Mirjam_465,
thank you for your explanation I will check first the course then I will contact the CSs to find a project.
wish you a nice day !
thank you !! I will for sure contact you or also feel free to comeback to me when you have a new project
Have a nice day and hope to work with you soon
Hello! Hope you all are having a great day~
I graduated from NSSA segging academy not too long ago and I would like to join a project with at least 2 hours a week in mind.
Why’s that? Well, for someone who watches on viki quite a lot, I’d like to give back to the lovely community.

Hello, yassou!
I see that you’ve been away from segmenting for over 4 years and graduated from SEG101. You will need retraining before you can work on any project. As Mirjam has stated, much has changed. If you are interested, I will help you with the new skills needed for combos. I teach NSSA level 5 combos for multiple language preservation.
If you are interested in retraining, please contact me @porkypine here (Viki mail) or on D I S C O R D
Hello, myllotheberol
I’ve sent Viki mail to you containing a list of potential shows to join. Pick one or more!

I have not done NSSA training because it shows 404 Error when I try to click on the link.
I am available for one hour per day, that is, 6 hours per week.
I want to becime a General Editor and want to gain knowledge and experience. I am extremely good with editing tools and am also a great proof-reader.
Thank you.
To be honest there aren’t many, in fact I don’t know any CS that would let someone that hasn’t gone through NSSA (or Seg101 a program that doesn’t exist anymore) join their projects. If I were you and really wanted to become a segger I would stand in line for Sandbox and later on do NSSA. If you know more than one language than perhaps you should try to become a subtitler for your language before thinking about becoming a GE. That said I really wish you good luck going forward.
The NSSA has a new website:
Hello
I recently graduated from the NSSA Segging Academy and am looking for my first project (available 1-2 hours per day). I have been watching shows on Viki for many years now and would love to give back to the community.

Hi @lis_ar
Congratulations! I suggest you contact any of the following people as they always have segging projects on the go… @a_hauth_238 @bjohnsonwong @kitty100 @iamsolyne @porkypine … I’m sure one of them will have a project for you to work on.
Hello, Everyone! I graduated from the NSSA Segmenting Training this last week. I find segmenting to be fun and rewarding. My profile is: Watch K-Dramas, Korean Shows & Chinese Dramas | Rakuten Viki
My about me page is: Viki Contributor Community
I’m available for around 2-4 hours on the weekend. I have more experience with Korean and Japanese, but I am able to do other languages as well. Please let me know if you need help and I will be happy to join your team! <3
P.S. I am conversational in Spanish (intermediate level knowledge and use).

@chaitanyasainikhil You must first go through the entire NSSA program (sandbox, levels 1 to 5 and the exam) before you can work as a segmenter at Viki. Please be patient, you have only just applied and are on the waiting list for the sandbox.
Hello! I’m actively looking for projects where I can contribute to segmentation work. I have 6-8 hours available each week, and I’m excited to dive into projects that allow me to apply my skills and further develop them in practical ways. I’m eager to bring value to any team by handling segmentation tasks and am committed to learning and adapting to new methodologies, tools, or best practices as needed. If there’s an opportunity to work together, I’d love to discuss how I can make a positive impact on your project!
