People , holiday depression

y’know our thoughts is the culprit. I got to thinking about stuff, and sure enough I started feeling blue, depressed ,alone, y’know all that negative stuff.

I re looked all of these messages and it helped a lot. so I have decided not to be depressed or blue, I plan to decorate my little place, put a good movie on and get on with it. this is just the start, I do plan to do more instead of sitting here and feeling sorry for myself.

thanks for listening, y’all

At age 17, she was rejected from college.

At age 25, her mother died from disease.

At age 26, she suffered a miscarriage.

At age 27, she got married.

Her husband abused her. Despite this, her daughter was born.

At age 28, she got divorced and was diagnosed with severe depression.

At age 29, she was a single mother living on welfare.

At age 30, she didn’t want to be on this earth.

But, she directed all her passion into doing the one thing she could do better than anyone else.

And that was writing.

At age 31, she finally published her first book.

At age 35, she had released 4 books, and was named Author of the Year.

At age 42, she sold 11 million copies of her new book, on the first day of release.

This woman is J.K. Rowling. Remember how she considered suicide at age 30?

Today, Harry Potter is a global brand worth more than $15 billion dollars.

Never give up. Believe in yourself. Be passionate. Work hard. It’s never too late.

A 24-year-old boy seeing out from the train"s window shouted, “Dad,look the trees are going behind!”

Dad smiled and a young couple, sitting nearby, looked at the 24-year-old"s childish behavior with pity. Suddenly he again exclaimed.

“Dad, look the clouds are running with us!”

The couple couldn"t resist and said to the old man,

“Why don"t you take your son to a good doctor?”

The old man smiled and said, “I did and we are just coming from the hospital. My son was blind from birth. He just got his eyes today.”

Every single person on the planet has a story.

Don"t judge people before you truly know them.

The truth might surprise you.

Last night I got a call from unknown number. I didn’t recognize it so didn’t answer. There was a voicemail from an older woman saying she just wanted to show “the two of you how much I appreciate everything you do…but I’ll chase you down anyway thank you again honey. “ And so I called her back to let her know I mistakenly got her message. She was so incredibly grateful. She said do you have a minute? Ha. Of course, I said sure! She explained how her young adult grandsons were all in town. She loves fruitcake! They went hunting at several places. Turns out they actually went to FIVE SHOPS before they found her a fruitcake.

She was so overwhelmed that these 3 big guys would do this So her message was to thank each one, as she was so overwhelmed this meant so much to them. She said I did my good deed for the day. When actually it was her sweet words and warmth that touched my heart. Marie and I ended up chatting more. I said I had an amazing recipe for fruit cake cookies. She had never heard of such a thing. So I’ll be personally delivering the recipe to her. Then she is digging up a recipe to give me for French Toast Casserole from a lady in her retirement center! Marie, did we just become best friends!? All from just one wrong call…❤️❤️❤️

I sat still wondering if my son had noticed the conversation. All of the sudden, he pipes up with, “Wait. You’re Santa? Santa’s not real?”

My husband and older son sat silent, and I chimed in immediately, “Oh my goodness!” With excitement in my voice, I looked at my husband and said, “Do you think he’s ready?”

My youngest asked quickly as he straightened himself up, “Ready for what? I’m ready!”

"I think he’s ready. " my husband said with a smile.

“Ready for what?! What is happening?!”

“To become a Santa with us, buddy.”

“I could be a Santa?!”

“That’s who Santa really is, sweetheart. When you are old enough, you learn that giving is better than receiving. You learn to give without asking for anything in return. You become a Santa.”

“Oh my gosh! So I’m a Santa now?!”

“You are, my love. Congratulations on being a big kid.”

“Who do I give to then?! I’m ready!”

And the conversation continued. And there was no sadness…only excitement. And he purchased items for others with mommy in order to surprise them and see the joy in their eyes.

When our kids grew old enough, they didn’t learn Santa wasn’t real; they learned Santa is in all of us. And they proudly accepted the new role of being givers.
