As we all know viki has made a whole section about how to become a language moderator in the Contributor support.
However! I’ve recently ran into a problem following the exact steps it recommends. I’m talking about this section:
**Step 3
If there is no response within/after 7 days, please submit a request to the Help Center and please include the following information to expedite the process and your request:
-
- The name of the channel you are interested in being a Language Moderator of.
- A link to the channel you are interested in being a Language Moderator of.
- The language you are interested in Moderating on the channel.
- Screenshots of inbox messages to the user you attempted to communicate with **(we need the dates & times visible.)
This step sends you to log into a thing called zendesk after being in a loop of not getting in I took a look on where it tries to send me.
However!! on deeper inspection I discovered, there is no such site anymore?? When you try to manually force to go on the link it’s not there??
Has anyone else experienced this?? Can we even do anything about it??

A second help center was introduced a few years ago, or rather it was split between two different places to go. I suspect that the link in the rules has not been updated.
There are two ways to get to these two help centers.
-
Via your Viki account. If you click on the menu at the top right next to your profile picture, you will see “Help” at the bottom, before the logout. This will take you to a Help Center
-
If you click on “Community” in the top center of your account, the “Dashboard” will open. There you will also find a “Help Center” in the middle at the top.

These are the paths to the Help Centers. They seem to be two different ones, as reports from one are not listed in the other. I can’t tell you which one is processed faster. Nor can I say whether it makes sense to submit a request via both.
You can also make your request in the Helpcenter directly there and do not have to write an email or leave the page. Simply click on “Submit a request”
As for the channel where you can’t reach anyone, may I ask which one it is? Is the CM really inactive or has he perhaps just not read your mail?
Just try to write another mail after 7 days of waiting.
I have sent you a Vikimail.

About a year ago, I was also interested in a channel where the CM wasn’t active anymore (no contribution in about 6 months and no reaction to my e-mail). I filled in a request via the help center, as a_hauth_238 suggests, and within a couple of days, I was added.
I wished it was possible to see if a person has read your e-mail. Now you just have to wait and wonder. Especially for beginners, it can be quite frustrating and demotivating.
