It’s a 1959 Malaysian movie based on a well known folklore tale in Indonesia and Malaysia. It’s a very old film played by two screen legends of Malay cinema who recently passed away this year, Latifah Omar as Bawang Merah and Umi Kalthum (Bawang Puteh).
