Hey! I’ve just started getting into subtitle translation as a contributor – made a couple of sample videos and applied to some projects I liked. Thing is, when I got the confirmation, I noticed my sample videos weren’t included. I’m pretty used to online forms, so I don’t think I did anything wrong when submitting.
The help centre chat’s just a bot, so that’s been no use at all. Anyone know how to sort this out? Or maybe what I messed up?
They are not included as in “attached”, but if one visits your profile page, the “About” part, there’s a link to them and anyone can click on it and see them. English to Polish: one is Crime and Mystery, the other one Romance. Here. And if you want, you can include the URL in your applications or personal messages.
I’m not sure if you’re still interested in subtitling, but if you are, it might be a good idea to re-work your profile.
There is nothing about you in your About section, so people don’t get the chance to get an impression of you.
There are two sample videos, both of them showing that you don’t yet understand the importance of formatting. You can find it on Viki, read about it in the Tutorial/Shortcuts section of the Subtitle Editor, or simply type it as you see it in the English version. Not using it means a lot of extra work for your moderator, which might be a reason why they might decide not to add you to their team in the first place. So I’d suggest to learn formatting and re-do your sample videos to make a good first impression.
