Seriously they could have done more with that WATER God theme I wanted more of him as the WATERGOD
Yes, it leads you to think agencies are fearful of fan/public backlash affecting their financial bottom line if they follow through on prosecuting these crazy fans. Which again I do not understand because usually the comments by general public are that what the people are doing is wrong. I haven’t done a comprehensive search on how the actual fans of these K Pop stars feel about the behaviors, only seen comments in general forums like this one. I did see some comments from BTS fans posted in one of the YT videos on saesang fans that were not approving of the behaviors of the saesang on BTS segments of the video, but that was the only fan specific comments I saw. Maybe they are a minority in the fandom=don’t know. Perhaps the fans themselves think that a punishment is wrong and agencies should let it go with an apology, or agencies get pushback from the various fandoms, I do not know. It is an interesting question. I still feel that if the industry truly wants to cut down on these types of behaviors then they need to hold people accountable to the fullest extent.
Yes, I realize Yunho made the choice not to press charges. (Which I still feel was wrong decision-the person tried to ■■■■ him and could decide to ■■■■ again in the future. He was letting a danger back on the streets, in my opinion. But that’s his choice, as you say.)
I can’t believe the hotel gave those scary fans champagne! Thet is definitely the wrong message to send to those people. Or are you saying the hotel did not increase security for the group after the incident? That hotel definitely should have increased security measures.
I agree with you that the K Ent stars in general need better security. Too often these crazy fans can get close because there isn’t anyone keeping a close watch on things. I was quite shocked at the lack of security measures when I watched some of the YT videos. The fans were able to get right next to the K Pop Stars because there weren’t any bodyguards at all! Another thing I noticed was there was often a distinct lack of security provided by the venue (most often airports). Very few security guards or crowd control measures taken. You would think that these agencies would have bodyguards on staff that travel with the Stars and not just leave them alone. For sure, everyone involved needs to keep security as a top priority.
Yeah, I’m like you- I would never approach the celebrities if I saw them in real life unless it was at an official event, like a album signing type thing.
You don’t?? It’s Jang Geun Suk or just Sukie, lol. He’s more of a musician/singer than actor, also he acted already as a child in Hwangini with Ha Ji Won, I like Beethoven Virus and Mary stayed all Night, and there was another one with Park Shin Hye and more
He has an upcoming drama:
I knew I had read something about him possibly doing a drama soon. He and Sooyoung could make a good pairing. Nothing seems confirmed yet, though.
Don’t you wish you could too
No - The boys from 2pm got champagne complimentary after it happened - that’s what the article about it said. No - I’m not sure what they did with the crazy fans!
I guess they are speculating it happened back in 2011 maybe
On another note I have seen BTS fans come into a 2PM live and attack us with constant comments or the group as they are doing LIVES or Insta Lives it makes me MAD
(forgive me sometimes I leave out words when I’m typing cuz I hear them in my head but I forget to add them to my post)
Hey I call Park Hyung Sik - Sikkie so this guy is Sukie!!! HA! Nope I didn’t know who he was - I have not watched Love Rain. I need to find his music. I did see that he has an upcoming drama.
I don’t understand the reason for this. If it’s a 2PM live why would you talk about another group unless they brought it up. Why would you watch a live from a group you don’t like? Just focus on your own group, the success of one group doesn’t take away from your love of a different one. I guess what it shows is the maturity level of those specific fans (not to generalize the whole fandom)
No - I’m sure it is young 13 year olds who “stan” whatever and are being obnoxious. It’s not just BTS fans I’m sure that is just what I noticed in a couple of the LIVES I have been on they hit the re-peat button over and over and over and you keep seeing the same obnoxious comment over and over.
This is nothing new and not isolated to Kpop. Anti-fans have been a thing ever since I have ever been a part of any fandom. I will never understand why anyone spends any time and energy on something they claim to hate. I already don’t have enough time in a day to love everything that I love, so why waste it on something I don’t like?

When my young teen got into kpop I had multiple talks with her about fandom wars, online bullying, sasaengs, all the toxic and positive things about it. But I guess being a fan myself gives me a different perspective than parents who know nothing about kpop.
That’s true. I could be wrong here, but it seems to me that kpop fans are more invested in their artists & fandoms. I think it has to do with the way the artists themselves are portrayed as everyone’s girlfriend/boyfriend and the amount of fanservice they do.
That’s really responsible of you as a mom. Fandom wars are so senseless.
I think you’re probably right about the depth of investment in kpop, and as you said, it has to do with how they market the whole industry as an ‘industry’, if that makes sense. I don’t really know how to explain what I mean, but I compare it to how celebrities here in America are not trotted out and marketed in the same way and with the same frequency/intensity/fervor.
I’m currently watching a silly little drama on ■■■■■ where the FL is a famous actress. She also happens to be a cat from a cat planet who can stay on Earth and become human if she finds and kisses her true love. Apparently being a cat is a theme for me right now. But anyway, she has gotten herself into a scandal and keeps having to confront anti-fans and reporters at the entrance to her agency, and I keep yelling at the screen, asking why this agency doesn’t seem to have a private entrance for its artists. I hope that actual agencies in Korea don’t make their artists just walk through the front door when they come to the offices.
I was just watching a youtuber rate the toxicity of fandoms (in 2019) and on his list of 7 only one was from South Korea (the aforementioned at #1.) I guess I just pay more attention to the kpop fandoms.
Summary
Interesting. Can you tell me what the other 6 were, or tell me which video you watched? Because now I’m curious.
From my experience, any time you find a fandom - for anything - you will find a dark, toxic side of it.
Edit: Thanks for attaching the video, @sweetybirdtoo. I hadn’t even heard of a few of those people/bands. I couldn’t help but think about how differently things would go for a certain artist with the initials C.B. on that list if he happened to be a SK artist.
