Connect (2022)
A thriller mystery drama , directed by the amazing Japanese filmmaker Miike Takashi.
It is not as usual k-drama . If you have seen âVenomâ, âHannibalâ, âKilling Eveâ, âThe Fallâ and liked them, you will also like this one.
Anyway, the bloody violence of the action is very tempered, I would say with great skill, with accents of black humor, and the graphic and animation accents (very successful), the cinematography and the rhythm of the action make the series something similar and yet different.
Enjoy!
The official poster:
When I found out that work was being done to release the second part this December, I put the series on hold with impatience so that around the winter holidays, when we were all relaxing at home, we could watch it (or rather, enjoy it /relish it) with peace and feast⌠but do you think we succeeded? The first 2 episodes of the 2nd series have barely been released and weâve already done a marathon⌠SuperbâŚ
I gladly recommend you
A very engaging, action packed, no-nonsense drama. Youâll wonder how you wrapped up watching so many episodes, so quickly.
That was a great stroy, reminded me a bit of Nirvana, donât know, perhaps it was the fur collar and his melancholic appearance, donât worry thatâs is finished you can see Li Hong Li again in a new drama, he seems again with some secrets a lone man, some dialogs there are really interesting or food for the thought!
Iâm on episode 10. - I noticed that itâs subbed by paid Viki subbers and the segments are so short that you canât really finish reading the subtitle they are like on/off in split second, Iâm so disappointed that Viki as a company isnât doing anything like checking whether these subbers are doing good job not just a âspeedy jobâ.
Hopefully Volunteer team will fix this.
You can say that again! â In The Blood of Youth.
I had to pause, and pause, and pause, so many times throughout the drama, just to read the subtitles.
So itâs not only me, itâs such a shame that itâs done hastily without either proper learning or without consideration like âtime is moneyâ⌠that looks to me, what else could be otherwise the reason?
Usually I wait to watch newer series until the segmenters have done at least A&C (adjusting and combining) of the segments. Preferably Iâd wait till the episodes have been edited, but sometimes I start a series and later on notice that it hasnât been edited till the end . The A&C is usually done though. Itâs too bad that viewers canât see which of the episodes have been A&C / edited.
Considering the shortage in segmenters & editors itâs likely that itâll take some time to finish it.
Teams, fighting!
Itâs sometimes written on the cover page.
By the way, it would be great to have a new feature to see this on the episodes. For example, having a green border on the edited episodes like this:
Theyâve been trained to time the segments only for the sound. They donât allow a buffer for slow readers.
Those that vocalize their words.
It could be so much worse.
Sorry to say, but a flash segment is not even readable for normal readers for a line that goes from left to right or even has 2 lines⌠that has nothing to do with slow readers. Iâm not the only one noticing⌠There are all kinds of viewers and Viki should take that into consideration.
Do volunteers who segment make all segment times with a buffer where needed? I think they just make segments that everyone can read and viewers donât need to rewind and stop the segment to finish reading.
Yes true. Only the average viewer probably doesnât look there
It depends on the segment. You can learn more in the NSSA guide for segmenters - https://nssacademy.weebly.com/segmenting-guide.html#extensionsgaps
But in short, if you can make a 1 sec âbufferâ after the sentence ends and there is enough space after (min. 0.6 secs), you do so. If not, you connect it to the next segment. Your segments also shouldnât be too short ( >1 sec). You want it to be readable. These are the standard rules, but some people do deviate from it sometimes (f.e. a 0.9 sec segment with the words âYesâ or âNoâ in it or a slightly longer buffer).
These are our last two Squirrels
