Subtitles in Bulgarian: why so few and how can I help best?

Hello there :slight_smile:

I am new to subtitling and I am trying to find a project. I want to translate to my native language, Bulgarian. :bulgaria:

I notice that there are very few series with subtitles in Bulgarian. I hope to be able to make more available, because when I want to share Viki series with friends and family who don’t speak English, it is very hard to find something to recommend, and they give up when they see there is no choice.

Since I am new to this, I wanted to ask the more experienced here. What can we do, so there are more subtitles in a particular language? For me as a subtitler, do I need to find a Bulgarian moderator as well? If there are no mods available, can I be my own mod? Please excuse me if this sounds too ignorant, but I am trying to brainstorm some solutions and see how I can best help.

Anyway i wanted to say that, I’m a Bulgarian moderator myself for a few dramas. If you would like to join me on my team?

Yeah that’s the sad part apparently with very few Bulgarian moderators or translations in general for the language. But i’m glad people like you and me want to contribute to change that.
