We’ve made it to the final days of the Challenge! We just wanted to say a huge thank you and congrats for keeping this Cabin Roll Call thread so fun—it’s been a pleasure to check in here each day. Thank you for sharing why you chose your particular cabin, for the wonderful recipes and stories, and most of all, for showing so much love and support to your fellow Campers!
Our cabins have grown to 245 AMAZING Campers—with 6 new folks joining in just the last 3 days! 
Here is the latest breakdown if you’re curious:

The Cabin form will automatically close when the Challenge ends. As a reminder, you can convert that time to your local time HERE, so you know exactly how much time is left.

It’s really nice to feel you’re part of the journey too. I’ve really enjoyed these. 
Here are questions for you and for all campers. 
As many know, I’m quite nomadic. I’ve lived in and visited many places of Europe, I even went twice to Australia where I spent more than a year. However, when I settled down here, in the West, near the ocean, I have encountered quite a bird that I had never seen in my life before.
They name it “Huppe Fasciée”. I have no idea how you guys would name it. It seems to be a typical bird here. But I’m sure there are others elsewhere and it probably migrates in winter.
So, my questions are, have you ever seen one before? Does this one live in your country or region? How do you name it in your language?
Here are a few pictures I could find. I can’t manage to take these myself, as my dog always scares them away when I’m about to. 
I hope some of you have already seen that bird. I find it so interesting and beautiful. 
Not to mention that the sound of its voice is quite peculiar too. 
Anyway, who’s up for a little challenge?

Ohh, in Czechia it’s called Dudek and it’s considered an endangered species here! The interesting thing is, it actually used to be abundant in our country, but it almost disappeared because of intensive farming and environmental influences. It’s really beautiful, but sadly I myself haven’t seen one yet

It’s the national bird of Israel, choosen in 2008. called Upupa epops. And in Hebrew: דוכיפת מצויה.
Really beautiful and unique bird. Just for genreal knowledge. Sadly, it is in danger becuase of other species.

Oh, it’s cool that it has become the national bird.
It’s very sad that it’s an endangered species though. 
I will make sure to plant tree when the soil isn’t so dry.
Now, it’s really impossible to make a hole for that.
This might help them find a place to hide or make a nest or whatever.
I don’t know much about birds, I’m afraid.

Lovely bird! We also have it in Romania, especially during Summer, and we call it „pupăză” because of its song that sounds like „pu-pu-pup” 
.

In Holland it’s called: Hop
Eurasian Hoopoe, Upupa epops - Hoppen (Upupidae)
Haven’t seen one, but to be honest… I’m not really a birdwatcher.

This name is quite easy to remember, hihihi. 
It’s fine, I’m not a big bird fan either, but this one really caught my attention.
I find it beautiful, very different, and I like its voice.
As I don’t know much about birds in general, and about this specific species in particular, it got me curious.

At one point I was no.1 on the leaderboard… lol And that isn’t something that happens to me but I had one of those shows that you can wrap up in 4 days if the others are as fast. And then my regular shows but now I have slowed down and to be honest is down to just on show as CS (that sort of never happens but now it has).

In German it’s called “Wiedehopf” and it’s an endangered species on the Red List. The name comes from the medieval high German word “widu” for forest and “hoop hoop hoop” the mating call of the bird. I have seen them a few times, but they are quite rare to find.

It can also be found here; its name is the Búbosbanka. - in Hungary
Fortunately, there are relatively many of them, but its habitat has shrunk considerably due to nesting issues. However, it adapts well to artificially placed nests, so the population has surged in the past few years.
At the same time, it can also be seen in Ireland, where I currently live, but mainly in the southern parts of the country. They don’t stay here; they’re just migratory birds. the name is - Hoopoe
