Happy Monday/Tuesday, Contributors!
Thanks again to everyone for showing up for our Summer Subtitle Trails Challenge and making it such a joy to be a part of!
We’re just waiting for the trail dust to settle before we start awarding badges. In the meantime a couple of notes from the thread.
- Hi, @juli_ann : Our apologies for the stress! We’ll make sure any future Subathons start on the 1st of the month moving forward.

- Hi, @maria_lavendula_77 : We’re still hoping we can fulfill your badger badge request someday soon!

- Hi, @lilybidulgi : Thank you for your kind words and your tremendous spirit! We likely won’t do a Summer Challenge Board in the future, as we’re sticking to our non-competition approach. That said, the bird you shared—which we now know from @amren, @rrmski, and @dimghro is called a Dudek, Upupa epops, and pupăză, respectively—is STUNNING! Hopefully, with this awareness, we can help preserve such a magnificent bird.

Thank you!
I was just kidding!
I definitely didn’t mean to start a campaign to change the Subathon schedule.
A little mystery keeps things interesting… even if my calculator is still in therapy.

It’s called dudek in Poland too!
I grew up in Poland, where it’s a protected species, although it’s not considered endangered.
My dad used to take me mushroom picking and fishing because my brother was always off playing football, and dad didn’t like going alone.
Thanks to him,
I was lucky enough to see a hoopoe a few times.

Thank you, I know my badger badge is a bit silly but the team that creates badges are so amazing nowadays that I think they could make a truly amazing badge. Please send the person/team behind the new badges a thank you and tell them that they are talented.
And a thank you to the team at viki that had this subathon, I miss the old personal viki but seeing comments here it sort of reminded me of those times. Thank you Brenda for being here even if you weren’t officially.

I hope everyone gets the badges they wanted, and if you don’t remember that all our hard work has given shows more good subtitles or segments.

Hi dear,
You know what?
Yesterday, I found real chili!
So, as the temperature finally went down a little (only 35° C instead of 40-ish), and the end of summer camp needed some kind of celebration, I tried your recipe again, with chili and red chili powder this time!
So, it’s really good and tasty! However, it’s so spicy!
Maybe I will keep that meal for winter now, hahaha.
As it really gets you warm from the inside, lol.
I must say this one was even better, though.
So, thanks again for the recipe.
Have a great day.

Hello everyone! This message is for all of you in the Eagle cabin!
I wanted to alert you to a slight snafu on my part.
I just realized that while our official announcement(opens in a new tab) specifically lists “Hawk,” I inadvertently put “Eagle” on your cabin form. Please forgive the mix-up!
We actually designed the badges with a Hawk, as hawks often appear in Asian dramas, symbolizing spirit, courage, and grace.

I hope you’ll be happy with the Hawk badge, but because this was my mistake, I want to make sure you have a great experience. If there is enough interest in an Eagle badge, please let me know—if there is enough demand, I’ll be glad to have our designer create an Eagle version for the cabin instead.
Thank you for your patience and for being such great sports!

Hello dear,
Thank you very much for telling us. This is very kind of you.
That’s fine with me. I’m sure the badges will be amazing.
Your teams must have worked so hard on it already!

Thank you for the hard work.
