Team Discussion Posts "moderated"?

Hi Contributors.
Have you ever had the disgruntling experience of having something you compose and posted in Team Discussion as a note to other members of the team not get posted because it was being “moderated” and then the post disappear? Can you remember when this happened and have you figured out Why? I know in the past if we posted a URL to a relevant youtube video, the post would be moderated and disappear. I haven’t tried to post any more youtube URLs.
I can’t recall a single instance in which a post was “moderated” and eventually appeared.
Today I figured out that if I attempt to reply to a paid subber’s comment anything other than thank you or if they suggest deletion of segments “Done”, any other reply will be moderated and disappear. That is we volunteers cannot respond to paid subber’s comments unless it is to thank them or something perfunctory.
PS – prediction – This thread will also be eventually closed for an unspecified reason. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gadfly_(philosophy_and_social_science)

I’ve actually posted Youtube videos in the past, several times, with no problem. One was in Hwayugi, when I posted a cartoon of the Iron Fan lady, and the other in My Fellow Citizens, when I posted the English song “Without you” that was sung in the first episode of the drama.
Moreover, when my posts disappear, after a day or two they reappear. I’m definitely not saying that what you say hasn’t happened, only that it hasn’t happened to me - so far.
My only recent communication with a paid subber was in Sh**ting Stars, when she asked why there were two people with the same name, and I told her what had happened (a manager had named her actor after her crush). I had forgotten to add this in Team Notes. Of course it was a completely innocent reply, so there was nothing to moderate, really, but so are most of the things we all post there. Team Discussion is not the place to protest against stuff, it’s just to communicate regarding the project.

Only in the time I was still on TD, roughly the first half of 2021. The moderation was due to me using one of the forbidden words: “subtitle.” On another occasion, I didn’t even know the reason. The posts did appear again a few days later, but of course, such a delay is still bad for the workflow.
I’ve always been told Disqus is the cause of the ban, but I’ve just seen a list of words that Disqus itself bans and those were not the words I expect anyone to post on TD.
And if I look at this, I can only conclude Viki is the one who decides what we can and cannot post: https://help.disqus.com/en/articles/4461282-moderation-settings

Thank you for making me feel I wasn’t being persecuted alone and for useful information. Yes, I can remember when gifs were also triggers and I do know that youtube URLs are allowed but I still can remember really informative videos I couldn’t post for the team. If “subtitle” is on the list of words triggering “moderation”, I wonder if we did something like soob or some such misspelling if the disquus AI would be clever and moderate?

It does accept “sub” and “subber.” Writing the words with s p a c e s in-between the letters also seems to help.

It happened when they removed discussion from under individual episodes. That’s when they implemented the filtering system everywhere (including TD) and assigned people to approve or permanently remove comments. That was… 2 years ago or more? Before corona in any case.

Also at that time they made the episodes go automatically in a full-screen mode.

The aim of all of this was to remove subwhiners.

I guess we can conclude their mission has failed.

I think the also moderated my comment when I mentioned that an episode was segmented or I said segments (can’t remember which of the two it was). It was really odd.

Yes, I noticed that the word “translate” definitely got moderated and disappeared. So I’ve been putting spaces in between each letter, like “t r a n s l a t e” instead. It’s really annoying.

Well, if the moderation gets triggered by “subtitle” and “translate”, i can only imagine how many sub whiners are being filtered out :flushed:

This is a service that should have been afforded to Viki’s volunteers! Wow!

So many who left, might not have stopped volunteering. Sigh!

Everytime I use the forbidden words I have to facepalm.

It’s kind of annoying to have to use other words to get our point across. Instead of “can you check the translation in Part 1” we have to put timestamps. Like, “please check 15:03. Does it make sense?”
