I only mentioned the side notifications as it’s also a “new feature” in the profile area as an extra row that wasn’t there about a week or two ago when I last looked.

Trust me, it wasn’t there yesterday. 
I see that “Dismiss” now, that new row.
I hope they’ll re-size the posting box, so it’ll stop playing Jack, and the Beanstalk.

I had just gotten used to the last update of the Discussions inbox and now they are changing it again. Don’t they have anything better to do? If they like to work on inboxes that much, our VikiMail could use some improvement. But even that is not the most urgent matter to take care of right now.

Some changes are made because of Discourse updates.
It’s not Viki doing that, it’s Discourse.
Viki is probably just updating their Discourse version.
If you want to change something on Discussions, it’s best to just visit Discourse directly.
EDIT: Also you can read their site to see, how things work (or should be working) and what is coming

oh, i didn’t mean that. she was talking about VikiMail so i were saying that our mail need the old sent messages icon to be back.

LOL my oldest was 2014 I guess an older topic that was closed by Viki back then … Like we Germans like to say “… and in China a sack of rice fell over.”

I clicked on dismiss and notifications all still there, how do I delete old stuff, the dismiss on my info box is now gray and I can’t use it, anyone an idea, or I can’t just see it?? 
It is just cluttering data, just why collecting all history?? @vikicommunity @brendas

Did you click on the Dismiss button as shown in @leerla73 screenshot? That cleared it all for me until the next notification.

The Viki Mail on our Viki profile, that platform is likely Disqus, not Discourse. Uhm! What’s with the ‘dis’ in these parent platforms? Ijs.

TD and comments are Disqus, but I’m pretty sure VikiMail is Viki’s own creation. I mean, how else would you explain that it never undergoes any improvement?

I don’t even have that dismiss button.
If I go to my general notifications dashboard (Profile - irmar - Viki Discussions), there is the “Filter by unread”, but it only functions for that specific page. The info box doesn’t get emptied/decluttered.

yup, it disappeared on my page now as well, maybe it was a special offer to dismiss them for a limited time

You do not seem to have anything unnoticed or unread, maybe the button is only there when there is actually something to dismiss.
Edit: So now I can confirm the dismiss-button is only available if there is something left to notice or read and to dismiss only takes away the “blue bars and numbers” but is not for deleting any notification.

I call it now a “clutterbox” cos you can’s delete old stuff, this is a data clutterbox, I haven’t seen before… I hate it, what is the purpose to keep old stuff there???
Filter by Read: All years, I’d say in my case almost 10 of keeping all the hearts and responses in this box… what does it do? what is the benefit??? “Quo Vadis”???
