I found very attractive drama recently. Title is Don’t Hesitate. I like casting and storyline. There is only one annoyance: too much episodes (98) even if one episode length is only 35 minutes. I think this amount of episodes has cut number of viewers.
By the way, would it be a good idea to recycle the good old dramas and make them summaries? For example, 16 episodes.
This is a free tip to the production company
Oh yes if only they did. I agree with you. Every drama over 20 episodes tend to drag out without adding to the story or expanding the characters roles.
Your comment made me think about the exceptions, I count 5 that have exceeded 20/24 episodes and used them well. How about you?
I have watched exactly 49 k-drama series in full (yes, I have counted) and only 6 have been over 24 episode length. They are A Thousand Kisses, Don’t Hesitate, Five Fingers, A Hundred Year’s Inheritance, Goddess of Marriage and Glorious Day.
Only Glorious Day was series which I was hoping for it to be longer.
I think the optimal length is usually 16 episodes.
Has anyone seen The Chaser? It aired in 2012 and went pretty unnoticed by the international audience, but in Korea the last couple of episodes even managed to reach ratings over 20%.
The plot is about a father who swears to take revenge on a politician that caused the death of his daughter. Two Weeks with Lee Jun Ki really reminded me of The Chaser, even if the father didn’t have the chance to save his daughter, but it was a very engaging, thrilling and emotional watch for me to see him trying to take down that politician (a presidential candidate at that)!
yes thank you is amazing also same type is

i want to watch this!!! but because i love hongbin(VIXX) xD and i want to see his acting
im seeing him in concert with Vixx the 23rd x) so yea. love him. how many episodes does this have??
Unfortunately, they shortened the series from 50 to 44. I understand that drama was more popular abroad than in Korea.
But anyway, the end of the drama was very satisfying!
Well I agree with you on ‘Glorious Day’ they could easily have given us the full 50. Not one episode was wasted and each one used to develop the story and family connections.
That’s because although they did include a ‘crazy mother’ she was a good person just a bit insecure. If I judge what is popular to the Korean viewers by the ratings some dramas get it is very clear they need more exposure to the outside world. I mean really, they thought ‘Heirs’ was great. My point made.
Glorious Day did not end up being a 50 episode drama because of the time schedule of at least two actors and the delay due to the Asian games.
The low ratings just made the decision easier.
It was an easy watch, something I thought Trot Lovers and She’s So Lovable would turn out to be, but well …
Instead I watched Mama, where I feared the story at first but it was the most surprising family drama for me this year and I watched quite a number.
I have also watched Mama and it have been easy and enjoyable drama. Especially Hong Jong-Hyeon impressed me.
thanks for telling me!!! xD i will watch it soon thanks so much.
@ger_o_malley ive got another drama for you!!!

Ojakgyo brothers is a very good family drama but you have to be patient until you reach ep. 14-15.
King of High School is awesome! It was subbed only until the 4th episode, so a lot of people didn’t watch it/don’t know it, but i loved it! Seo In Guk is awesome as always
Why oh why is no one praising ‘Pride & Prejudice’ it is way up there with the best ones of 2014. The script, the cast, the direction, how it has not strayed from the story the wonderful way it is unfolding, the no wasteful episodes full of crap filling in… Ergo I put it here in the ‘Underrated Dramas’ simply because I cannot find another viewer to share my love and respect for this.
If anyone loves a drama that respects your intellect this is the one for you and for the folks out there who like their eye candy there is that also.
I like it. It’s not my favourite but the story is interesting. And like always, Choi Min Soo is great ! I really love this actor ! The scene between Kang Soo and the little boy are cute
For the actress, I loved her in Empress Ki but when she must have a love story, she lacks of chemistry with her co-stars. She’s a little bit “cold”.
