I was wondering which variety shows you guys watch. I started watching Running Man as my first Korean variety show and then started watching Infinity Challenge and 2d1n, Take care of my fridge and Hello counselor.
Nowadays, IC has stopped T.T and the only shows I check every week are Running Man, 2D1N and Master in the Houseā¦oh and the new version of Weekly idol. There are also some seasonal shows Im a fan of (3 meals a day) and others that I only watch a couple of episode once in a while (Take care of my fridge, Return of Superman). Other shows started off great, but either got cancelled or changed formats (House husbands for example / donāt watch the old Weekly idol anymore either).
Other K-variety Iām watching nowadays: Busted & where on earth.
What are your favorite variety shows? And why do you like them? I would love to know
I watch Itās dangerous beyond the blankets. Itās a variety show where in every few episodes 4 to 6 people will spend a few days in a holiday resort. They have in common that they are all rather stay home than going out (because they think itās āādangerousāā outside). In summer/fall 2017 they had a pilot season with 3 episodes and now it has become a regular show. Watching the show makes me very relaxed and the captions are also funny Some persons only appear once and others appear more often. If you decide to watch it you can take the whole month of june for it, since they wonāt air new episodes for the time being because of the world cup
Another one I like is: Ask us Anything/Knowing Bro(ther)s. In this show, the ābrothersā act as high school students and the guest(s) act as transfer students who come study in their school. In the first half, usually the guests will tell stories and answer questions about themselves and also prepare a quiz with questions about themselves that the 'brotherās have to answer. There is not really a price, just honuor In the second half, there are often games played or there is a role-play in which guests and ābrothersā participate. I donāt watch every episode of this show, just the ones that have interesting guests.
Law of the jungle is also interesting. A show in which the participants go to different parts of the world for every season and try to survive with the local food and self-made tools. The leader is the same in every season, but the other participants differ every time. Again, i watch this show only if they have interesting people, so I donāt know it very well.
been watching running man for over a year and love it. i also watch MOAM (men on a mission) and season 2 of hyoriās bed and breakfast but the last two havenāt made it to viki for some reason. i would love to see I can see your voice but it isnāt anywhere except clips of it on YouTube. just finished first season of busted! which was ok (it had members from running man in it). i also liked an older show called roommate but it never got a second season. as you may see i LOVE Korean variety shows. i almost forgot happy together too.
I LOVE this one but sadly although it has a CM and viki in charge of subs only 1 episode, is fully subbed and episode 2 is at 70 something. I HATE when something is good and gets no love. I have been waiting for subs and gave up. SO ANNOYING!
PLEASE if someone knows Korean and English give a hand to this great variety show. I need the subs pretty pleaseā¦ė¶ė, .jepal, čÆ·, Sāil vous plaĆ®t, por favor, ćé”ććć¾ć, ĻĪ±Ļ ĻĪ±ĻĪ±ĪŗĪ±Ī»ĪæĻĪ¼Īµ, per favore, ą¤ą„ą¤Ŗą„ą¤Æą¤¾, etcā¦
Iām happy to say I found the episodes with english subs at another site, I wonāt mention here. I already saw episode 2 going now to watch episode 3. Really excited.
Yes, Iām familiar with this series. I occasionally watch it for Heechulās savageness
I have heard of Law of the Jungle but never watched it and the other one Iāve never heard of so I might watch a few episodes.
I wish that the variety shows were available for my region. I can only watch RM on Viki, nothing else.
So did I. Some episodes were really funny, others were okay. I actually like the members and at the end of the season it was better than at the beginning, so I will check out season 2 if they make one. Happy together is also a show that I watch occasionally
I like " The Call ", where there are teams of singing superstars battle it out to win. Also, " Singing Battle " where there are drama stars, singing stars, mixed together and coached by other legends of music. The best parts of the show is where the loser falls through the hole and when the coach presses the " hidden " button and a superstar appears.
As someone who works on the team for this and doesnāt really speak Korean, I would just throw out there that this is probably one of the easiest to understand variety shows out there. You can always tell pretty much whatās going on even without knowing the language. So if youāre really bored, you could give this a shot without subs for now and see if you like it. Otherwise, weāre working on it as much as we can. Thanks for your interest!
I know this is an old topic, but I really, really want to appreciate and recommend the variety show MMTG for anyone whoās even a little interested in Korean entertainment. I discovered the show because of NCT DREAM about a week ago and havenāt stopped marathoning it!
I LOVE JaeJae, the MC. Sheās a wonderful person and a VERY talented MC. I love the way she makes her guests feel super-comfortableā it doesnāt matter which generation the guests are fromā¦ she easily communicates with them and makes them feel at home. It isnāt just something Iāve observed. The guests repeatedly say how comfortable they feel on her show. Itās surprising to see even the quietest band members get talkative and take an initiative to do things. I really couldnāt believe how well she interacted with NCTās Jaemin, who is usually on a totally different wavelength from most people Iāve seen. Even Jaeminās members were surprised at how well JaeJae seemed to connect with him! She has the ability to make anybody and everybody laugh without being cringey or embarrassing others.
I loved how they donāt force/put pressure on anyone to do anything. The band SEVENTEEN were so surprised when JaeJae and the staff told member Dino he didnāt have to do a certain dance if he didnāt want to.
JaeJae REALLY does her homework. She knows everything about her guests. She knows choreographies, the bandsā histories, the lyrics, everything. I love how the show is actually educationalā Iāve literally been taking History of Kpop classes watching her. Her show segments are meaningful. She related everything to their performances. You feel like youāre watching artists, not comedians.
I also love how the staff can be heard while the show is going on. You can see that everyone is having fun. The guests themselves say how much they like seeing the reactions of the staff. There are not many of them, but theyāre all wonderful people. The entire atmosphere is relaxed, nostalgic, fun and easygoing. The artists are able to talk about their passionā music. I got a lot of information about how things work in the kpop industry, SMās impact and the way they do their thing, the process of releasing an album, the role fashion and styling plays, how a group evolvesā¦ actual information, not just gossip or empty comedy.
Iāve watched a couple of her videos. Sheās a good MC indeed.
I still watch Running Man and 2D1N, occasionally My little Old boy & Delicious Rendezvous and seasonal ones like Village Survival, New Journey to the West, etc.
A new variety show Iāve started watching this year is Sixth Sense - itās fun to see the chaos and to guess which one of the places is fake.
I watch Knowing Brothers/Ask Us Anything/Men on a Mission every week! I love it so much. I almost always laugh hysterically. I was sad it left Viki and new eps are only on Netflix now because they donāt always have the music rights and therefore performances by guests are either cut out or the song gets replaced with something else. But it is such a fun show! I actually started watching it way back when before I had watched a lot of dramas, so looking back now, I realize I had seen a lot of celebrities there first and had no idea how they were, so itās fun to go back and re-watch their episodes now that I am familiar with them.
There is another show I watch called Love Naggers. People write in their ālove storiesā and get advice from the celebrity panel. It can be entertaining, but you can also come across a story that just makes you shake your head.
Going Seventeen is Seventeenās variety show. I think it qualifies as one because it already has two seasons and one ongoing one.
I love it. I canāt believe Iām binging a variety show. Im learning all sorts of fun games!
Here are the episodes I found most interesting,(both are part 1ā¦thereās a part 2 also):
I watch episodes of Knowing Brothers that have idols that I like. I also like Master in the House, Iāve watched a few Running Man episodes also. I segment ASC because I like kpop and they need a segger. Iāve been very busy cranking out back episodes there. Itās a noisy show. And I am certifiably insane for looking at helping segment on that gigantic backlog of King of the Mask. flashes, extensionsā¦ choppy dialogā¦ etcā¦ But the SINGING! YEA!
I LOVE GoSeās editorsā¦ they make the show 10 times funnier than the boys already are(the editorsā comments are in the brackets)!
