Here are some fun facts about Lunar New Year:
This year, Lunar New Year’s Day falls on Wednesday, January 29th, 2025. Lunar New Year is celebrated across Asia and while some traditions are shared, others are unique to each country’s culture. For example in China, the Lunar New Year is called “Spring Festival” and includes putting up lanterns and setting off fireworks to chase away evil spirits.
The year 2025 marks the “Year of the Wood Snake”. The snake represents wisdom, intuition, and transformation while the wood element brings growth, stability, and harmony.
Those born under the Year of the Snake are said to be clever, deep thinkers, observant, determined, and charming. The best jobs for Snakes utilize their creativity and imagination. Famous people born in the Year of the Snack include Indira Ghandi, John F. Kennedy, and Picasso.
The year of the Wood Snake is a perfect time to chase your dreams, embark on new adventures, and balance ambitions with life values. However, adopt a Snake’s nature with awareness and sense of timing by being ready to strike when the time is right to maximize the energy of the year!

Hi @simi11 - apologies for my delayed reply! Are you still seeing issues with your sub count? We did a quick check and the monthly leaderboard appears to be calculating properly…
Hi Brenda, thanks for replying. I did get the Badge, but at the ending time of the Badge period it showed only 79 subs some days later still same. I feel Im still missing some. I didn’t check with the subcount total in my dashboard. I only noticed the difference on the leaderboard.
I get back to you on Friday, Im off to bed
@brendas Hi! I believe I’ve made contributions of a couple hundred or more, within the time period. I don’t see the badge in my profile yet. If tabulation is still in progress, no worries and no rush. However, if it has ended, please see if I’ve been overlooked or something else happened. Tyvm.
hi @jadecloud88 - thanks for reaching out! we checked with our data team and regretfully must report that not enough contributions were made during the lunar new year event time period for you to qualify for this event badge. we are now running all of our events on UTC time so definitely convert to your local time zone to be sure!
I realized it was the final few hours for contributing when I read about the event here. I thought at the time of conversion, I had at least a couple hours to make the minimum contribution for the LNY badge, and I thought I did. In any case, I could have been mistaken or could have made an erroneous conversion in haste, resulting in contributions made outside the event time period.
No matter. There’s always another badge event with another badge to pursue.
Thanks again @brendas
