Hello, was your review about lack of subs in your language or something like that? If so, that’s why it was flagged as inappropriate. Reviews are to rate the show, not subs which are most of the time made by volunteers and not included in Viki Pass subscription.
If that was not about that, I can’t tell you without knowing the exact review you had written.
Also, we can see what people are following, which channels/celebrities/users they are following and the reviews they made, but the watchlist can’t be seen. So don’t worry about that.
Edit: I found your profile and don’t see the watchlist, as I thought, but I don’t see either the review you were talking about which was flagged, probably because you modified it.
was your review about lack of subs in your language or something like that?
No, it was not something obvious like that. I know the rules, and I try to follow them. The only thing coming close to violating the rules was me stating that the actors looked much too young for their characters’ age, which was only one of many points I made.
Actually, other reviews with similar opinions like mine vanished around the same time, so who knows what happened – the actual process how the system works seems to be a secret.
My review is gone now anyway, so deleting via the old layout worked, and it seems possible for me to write something new, so in this specific case, all is good now.
Thank you for trying to help.
I’m still not too pleased that this won’t work in the future, but maybe I’ll worry about it then, if it should ever happen again.
I really like the new profile layout, other than the fact that we get taken to white mode when checking projects/contributions/about me.
And also the fact that the About Me page is almost hidden.
Other than that it looks neat and organized which is nice
I personally like the new profile. I have some vision problems so the light mode is more comfortable for me.
But there is one thing that I liked better in the old version. Previously, I could see my language progress from my profile but now there is only English.
On the screenshot, I highlighted in yellow how it was, and in red what it is now.
I can only see my language progress if I go to the show page. It was very convenient for me to see everything from my page. English is almost always at 99-100% otherwise the episode is definitely not ready for OL. And it was a way to check my team’s progress at a glance.
Where is my About page… nowhere… oh it leads me to another page of the contributor community and the Reviews jumps years all over the places
In my Community page nothing new yet… but it will lead me to a second page with the other menus…
I’m not sure what to make out of this… yet
Oh my, I had to click on my project on my black profile to get to a 3rd page which is now a 2nd community page where my About section is… @brendas is this really the change having basically 3 profile pages or is this still a bug?
I also tried it on another person’s profile page and it works the same.
But yes, it’s a pity that non-contributors don’t have the About me page. First of all, who says that they don’t want to make a page about their preferred dramas and actors? But most importantly, the new people who want to join projects but haven’t done anything yet, can write something about their skills etc.
Now the only sensible way for them is to make a sample video, to gain some contributions.
It just occurred to me… If brand new people make sample videos as a first step, they will have contributions and they will “sign up” for being a contributor. So the About Me page, Contributions page etc. will open to them, too. It’s not a terrible solution.
Viki has been technically struggling with cookies for a long time. My hope is that by limiting extra contributing-related features to contributors only, they will free some capacity on their servers and make it easier to detect contributor-related errors. Contributors are a tiny group compared to the global viewership on Viki.
It still makes 3 webpages if you look at it…
If I go from Main viki page to Community I have just the dashboard without the other menus.
When I click my projects it leads me to the new web page with the new menu.
If I go from Viki main page to Profile, it’s a new Profile page without the About but the new menus… I don’t understand why so many clicks to get somewhere and 3 different Pages for 1 user…
Even before, if you went from the main page to your profile (from the dropdown menu under your picture on the upper right corner), it went directly to Overview, not to About. You still had to click on the About to reach it. The only thing I would have done differently is to put the About Me page together with the other tabs. But they wanted to differentiate non-contributors from contributors, and that’s why they moved this to the contributors website. The clicks, however, are the same as before.
“Recent contributions” is now endless scrolling. OMG, I hate it. Absolutely hate it. Before, when I wanted to get to someone’s oldest contributions, I could just click last page and I got it instantly. Now I have to scrooooooooooooooooll for eternity. Why why why. It makes evaluating someone more difficult. Previosuly I could say “pages 2-12 consist only of dots and commas, therefor this person is an abuser”. What can I say now?
The list of people who follow you is now also an endless scrolling list. I can’t even see all the legit people, who follow me, because I would have to scroll through the endless bots. I wish we could just delete their following.
It might be a good change for people who are only viewers, since they don’t need the ontributions sections and such
I like the bigger icons for following/followers. Boxed in sections themselves could be smaller, but I don’t mind them as they are now either.
And I generally prefer scrolling to clicking a button. Although I’ve not yet had to see the last contributions of a user, so I understand how scrolling to get there might be annoying.
Hello, did you guys had seen the changement on our benefits? I’m in Europe region so I know that QC benefits plus are not available for me. But today I’m on my profile page and I’ve seen it appear. Cf screenshot. On the beginning of this week it was well “QC benefits standard” and now it’s “plus” So ? An evolution for all European here ? Or it’s a bug ? I’ve read here > “If you take a look at both labels, yes, you are Viki Pass Plus, but you are also QC Benefits Standard because you’re in Europe.”
